This is it. Do you understand? We're ready for this debate. We can win this debate. We're up against a bunch of people that don't have any ideas. We're up against a bunch of people that can't be honest about who they are, but they care so much about this court they have no choice but than to be honest about who they are.

Once again, Limbaugh is right on the money. If the American people find out just who these leftist groups really are and what they really stand for, Senate Democrats from "Red States" will have no choice but to confirm Alito. And the last bastion of liberal activism will slip out of their grasp.

I think we are in good shape with the nominee. Just a little squawking by the liberals, but no filibuster.

Right on.

Chuck Schumer, we need to give him his full-time, 24/7 cable service called the All Schumer Service, or ASS. Let Chuck Schumer be out there all the time saying what he's saying, let Ted Kennedy, the swimmer, come up for air and say what he wants to say. Let Dingy Harry say it. Let them all talk about it. Let McCain sit on the fence all he wants. Let them all. I'm telling you this is exactly what we want.

IMHO, Bush's choice of Sam Alito is nothing short of amazing. It's even a gutsy choice. He cast caution to the winds, disregarded political implications, and chose an openly conservative man of European origin simply on the basis of his high qualifications. It's beautiful in its simplicity. And what's even better, it looks like he'll be confirmed, anyway.

Happy Halloween, Constsitutionalist conservatives. : )

Liberals lost this spot on the Supreme Court the moment Alito was nominated. They knew that would be the case, and that's why they wanted to intimidate President Bush into appointing a liberal/stealth candidate for the spot. However, President Bush did the courageous thing, and appointed Alito.

It is a very fine way to scare the liberal left on Halloween.

I'm freaking thrilled!!!

Do you think these lefties have any idea just what is about to happen to them?

Listened to Limbaugh today on this particular nomination and I'll be doggoned if I can figure out any reason why he should be so hot to get another Kennedy on the USSC.

I don't think Rush has thought this one out yet.

He's right on with this statement: "We want the libs to be who they are. We want a debate about the Constitution. We want a debate about the role of the judiciary in our society. We want such a debate that the American people are listening to it. We want this debate to be informative, we want this debate to be educational because we will win this debate."

Rush also anticipated McCain's fence-sitting (as he did on Hannity tonight). But the important thing is that the Republican Senators will have to decide whether they will be strong on the Founders' Constitution or cower to the Far Left's twisting of it to fit their special-interest agenda.

Clearly, this is a good choice. The Radical Left is whining that the President should have picked a "consensus" nominee, or someone who represented "mainstream" America.

Well, a "red state/blue state" map clearly shows that mainstream America is not Hollywood, Northeastern Liberals, People for the American Way (a misnomer), ACLU, Planned Parenthood, or any of the other gloom and doom groups opposing a candidate who believes in the Founders' Constitution.

Out there in the "mainstream" of America, this nominee's responses in the hearings will be well received, clearly understood, and will not be seen to be dangerous to their liberty.

"We, the People" are not sheep to be herded by the "drivers" of the mainstream media, Hollywood, and liberal special interests, but citizens to be respected as the "only KEEPERS" of the Constitution, in the words of Justice Joseph Story in his "Commentaries on the Constitution."

Justice Story:
"§ 1907. If these Commentaries shall but inspire in the rising generation a more ardent love of their country, an unquenchable thirst for liberty, and a profound reverence for the constitution and the Union, then they will have accomplished all, that their author ought to desire. Let the American youth never forget, that they possess a noble inheritance, bought by the toils, and sufferings, and blood of their ancestors; and capable, if wisely improved, and faithfully guarded, of transmitting to their latest posterity all the substantial blessings of fife, the peaceful enjoyment of liberty, property, religion, and independence. The structure has been erected by architects of consummate skill and fidelity; its foundations are solid; its compartments are beautiful, as well as useful; its arrangements are full of wisdom and order; and its defences are impregnable from without. It has been reared for immortality, if the work of man may justly aspire to such a title. It may, nevertheless, perish in an hour by the folly, or corruption, or negligence of its only keepers, THE PEOPLE. Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall, when the wise are banished from the public councils, because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded, because they flatter the people, in order to betray them."

The left have built their house of power on deception that is why they try so hard to convince conservatives to capitulate by "uniting and not dividing" because in head to head fights they lose that is why they have chosen the cowards route to power through unelected courts.

I agree, accept for the "last bastion" part. They still have public education under control and a strong grip on the media and entertainment.

The woman on Brit's panel tonight (don't know her name, but she's the Lib of the crew) was predicting a filibuster. It sounded to me to be her way of screaming "FILIBUSTER THIS PIG!" without actually doing so. According to Hannity, the Planned Parenthood types are undergoing a meltdown. GWB might as well have added "Checkmate!" when he announced the nomination this morning.

Now the real question...what's the climate at DU? (snicker)

I thought Alito was more Scalito than Kennedy-esque. What gives?

Your right and it comes down to this. Who shares the values of the majority of American families? Alito or Ginsberg? Alito is no radical and the democrats know it.

"Americans love to fight, traditionally. All real Americans love the sting and clash of battle. You are here today for three reasons. First, because you are here to defend your homes and your loved ones. Second, you are here for your own self respect, because you would not want to be anywhere else. Third, you are here because you are real men and all real men like to fight. When you, here, everyone of you, were kids, you all admired the champion marble player, the fastest runner, the toughest boxer, the big league ball players, and the All-American football players. Americans love a winner. Americans will not tolerate a loser. Americans despise cowards. Americans play to win all of the time. I wouldn't give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That's why Americans have never lost nor will ever lose a war; for the very idea of losing is hateful to an American."

Words of encouragement from Gen. Patton. It would appear that we have a real fight on our hands.

"Rush also anticipated McCain's fence-sitting (as he did on Hannity tonight)."

We need not be worried. John McCain wants to be President, and if he comes down against Alito (barring something very unforseen), his chances of winning the GOP nomination are zilch. I think that McCain, in his ambition, will be the one who puts Alito over the top and squelches any possible filibuster.

Well, there is a solution to their grip on public education--homeschooling. IMHO, the homeschooling community has the potential to be the bastion of educational excellence in the US. But that's another topic for another time.

And the last bastion of liberal activism will slip out of their grasp.

I sure hope so - the Libs accuse conservatives of wanting to change the courts to create a theocracy. I say conservatives want to change the courts back to the way it used to be - interpreting the Constitution only, not legislating from the bench which is exactly what the Dems/Libs have been doing for the past 40 years. They know they cannot win their agenda at the ballot box so they hijacked the bench.

You are right on the money, my friend. Liberalism is based upon lies and deception and it is a sick and pathetic form of mental disease.
