"I'm going to take a guess that you've never been a young woman swept off of your feet by a charming young man."
That was easy. I never have been a young woman swept off her feet by a charming young man.
I'm going to take a guess that this young woman was never very devout and understood very little about her 'faith'.
I'll bet we're both right on the money.
How much did you know about Islam over 20 years ago? Jews and Christians are called People of the Book. The same translations embrace Christians and Jews as righteous and beloved people because that translation of the Quran recognizes Jesus as a prophet and the last messenger of God.
So, over 20 years ago, how was marrying a Muslim marrying outside the faith?
Have you read the Bible?
Hence post #6 and 29
Listen to the message Laura reports. You don't believe we are Infiltated? You think it's a joke(Body Snatchers)? How about checking out "Infiltration : How Muslim Spies and Subversives have Penetrated Washington" from your local library or Amazon.

Laura made a mistake in marrying a mussie? Come on. This about getting the word out. More and more there is a hidden war on our soil.
Go to Islamicfinder.org and find out some of what's surrounding you. Put your zip code into the search go 10 miles or more.

Bible, 4 versions of the Quran and a translation of the Torah.
Not hence post 6 and 29. That brings up the question pertaining to post 6 and 29. The Old Testament is widely shared in the Torah and the 'nonextreme' translations of the Quran.
So, the question still remains, as per the Old Testament, over 20 years ago, based on the nonextreme translation of the Quran, was that marrying outside of faith?
Are you more devout at this point in your life, then when you were say 19 or 20 years old?
The way I see it, this woman endured an amazing struggle with faith and most likely does indeed, understand her faith.
I remember thinking when Cassius Clay converted, "I can't believe he'd give up on Jesus just to keep from going to Vietnam!"
You'd probably need to understand what many of us have learned only since 9/11.
A muslim woman who marries a non-muslim man is to be killed.
Muslim men are encouraged to deceive and marry non-muslim women in order to convert them.
There's a fascinating article on just that scenario that I've kept in my bookmarks:
My Life with a Muslim Man

:-)
Good for you. If you have, then you'd know exactly what I'm speaking of. As it is, you need to reread the Bible - try the Epistles and get back to me. If you are aware of the injunctions against marriage with those who are not of the faith, what is your take?
Exactly the point of Ms. Mansfield's message.
Great thread, thank you.
I am not taking a position as one of faith. I am simply pointing out the fundamental faults in the woman's version of her 'faith'. If she marries a Muslim and encourages their children to be a part of their father's faith, she obviously has no clue about her own faith and its clear injunctions.
I read that.
And how about 'Not Without my Daughter'
Chilling.
Making-the-hair-on-your-neck-stand-up ping.
You still didn't answer my question. As per the Old Testament, over 20 years ago, based on the nonextreme translation of the Quran, was that marrying outside of faith?
BTTT
>>> If she marries a Muslim and encourages their children to be a part of their father's faith, she obviously has no clue about her own faith and its clear injunctions.
Are you speaking of Laura Mansfield or the article Laura wrote about, Sandy?
You asked several questions - all of which you could answer for yourself with a little effort.
However, FYI, there is clear instruction in both the OT and NT to marry and raise children within the confines of scriptural faith. On both counts, this woman fails.
What is your take?
