Title and first paragraph are slightly misleading, IMHO. Bomb was found after it exploded and police aren't sure whether it happened over the weekend or early Monday morning (presumably before classes started).

Someone wanted out of PE on Monday. Must have been a big physical exercise test or something, and someone ate way too many pizza's over the weekend!

Ping... Pipe bomb found in Orlando School
Other coverage:
School evacuated after pipe bomb found Memorial Middle School was evacuated this morning after the discovery of a pipe bomb in the girls' locker room, the Orlando Fire Department said.
Someone threw the bomb through a glass window over the weekend, said Assistant Fire Chief Rudy Johnson.
The device ignited, burned some flooring and caused an as yet undetermined amount of damage, Johnson said.
Classrooms at the school on West 29th Street were evacuated as a precaution after the 10 a.m. discovery. A bomb-sniffing dog was summoned to make sure there were no other unexploded bombs in the building, Johnson said.
Memorial Middle School has re-opened with the exception of the girls locker room.

Just slightly. When I see this sensationalist postings some make (Breaking News) I wonder wether they want something to happen.

2nd correction: It WAS reported as a pipe bomb.
I am very sorry to add to the confusion. I read my post, and then re-read the first article and jumped to the conclusion that I had made a mistake... Reminder to self: Read, re-read, take a few breaths, then post!

Actually, the Orlando Sentinel reported it as a pipe bomb... A little more hazardous than a cherry-bomb.
"Memorial Middle School was evacuated this morning after the discovery of a pipe bomb in the girls' locker room, the Orlando Fire Department said."

Yah... I see that now. Little bit different.
But I do recall attempts to chase the girls outside. Seems they always only have those itty bitty little towels.

"It was not determined what type of device was thrown into the building but it was deliberately thrown, according to officials."I'm glad to see they have a firm grasp of the obvious there in Orlando.

Maybe this is why the girls locker room at our high school didn't have any windows.
(um... if I recall.. you know, from what I heard.)
To: Redbob
LOL yeah, I thought it was an odd statement. A better article from the Orlando Sentinel (posted down thread) stated it was a pipe bomb. Maybe the problem came from a rush to get it on the wire without waiting for better word from the authorities?

The perp was probably outside the locker room ready to help the girls "drop and roll."
