With Only Slight Exaggeration: It's Go-Time
The National Review ^ | 10/31/2005 | Jonah Goldberg

This is it. Back in June I wrote, "In Washington, conservatives and liberals are quietly loading up on drinking water, D batteries and extra ammo, in preparation for the coming battle over judges. Ralph Neas himself has been seen by the campfire carving notches into the stock of his rifle, muttering, 'Pain don't hurt.' No one knows when the fight's coming, but everyone knows it is."

Even now, federalist society and Naral types are running around town ducking their heads into barber shops and shoe shine parlors, shouting "it's on! It's on!" Those inside throw down their newspapers, haircuts unfinished, and race to the law libraries.

Next to the WOT I can't of anything more worthy of our full throttle support.

My only gripe with Jonah is that Ralph Neas would never ever touch a rifle!

THE BATTLECRY OF CONSERVATIVES SHOULD BE

BRING IT ON!!!!

Conservative values can win if we are not afraid to stand behind true conservatives (RINOs dont count - i.e. McCain).

I hope someday that we understand what REALLY happened with that abysmal Miers nomination, (I personally suspect Andy Card tried to slip a Souter past us when President Bush was distracted) but for now I am overjoyed at this.

And, yeah...let's bring it on!

I agree with you. I really believe that Miers was a liberal Souter. What really concerns me is that Bush would have even suggest her and that she is part of his legal council. It makes sense now why Bush supported affirmative action in the SCOTUS decision - I believe he is too easily influenced by these cronies. Which is a very poor reflection on his character. I refuse to be a Bushbot - Bush has had more opportunity than any other president to change this country and has squandered it away for the most part.

BTW dont be fooled by Bush's discussion on securing our border. Its all talk - they are just trying to act like they are doing something. They know they could fix this thing overnight if the put up a wall, took away ALL benefits and went after employers with a vengence. Illegals wouldnt come here and those that were here would leave on their own.

Arguably more important than the WOT. The internal rot of leftism is possibly more dangerous to our lives than the threat of mindless fanatics who want to kill us just because we breathe.
