Moulton is a small town in NW Alabama.
Spoke to someone who had taught in Tuscaloosa County (AL)schools and left. She said some students would get into bloody fights when teachers turned their backs in the class room....it only would take seconds. Also said teachers could not wear name tags for fear some student would use it as a choking device.
The SYSTEM has failed.
That was meant to say lanyard nametags worn around the neck.

Years ago-when I was applying to high school-I was zoned for Lafayette, since my family lived in Bensonhurst at the time.
That was-and still is-one of the worst schools in the city public school system, along with other war zones, e.g. Franklin K. Lane, Jefferson, Norman Thomas, etc...
Thank goodness I was accepted to Murrow, which was a few miles from my house.
What really irked me was the opposition to former Mayor Giuliani's plan to have the NYPD replace the incompetent, quasi-criminal SSOs with security guards trained by them.
They actually used to have facilities-600 schools-reserved for the exclusive use of juvenile delinquents/criminals-where the staff would get paid a higher salary.
It seems like that would be a good solution to the problems in Huntsville and Tuscaloosa.
Though it would probably incur a lawsuit from the ACLU.
God knows we can't have discipline in the schools!

The minute you have a threat in a school...you eliminate it. If you sit there and tolerate it...it grows. Jerk the kid up and bring into the parents living room. Give the parents a week to instruct the kid on behavior...after that...bring the kid into a juvenile facility and let them get a taste of being an adult there. I wouldn't waste a minute of a teacher's time with kid's like this.
