LOS ANGELES (AP) - They're probably not going to see the movie, either.
Activists in a south Los Angeles neighborhood staged a rally to protest the billboard for the upcoming 50 Cent film "Get Rich or Die Tryin'." Paramount Pictures is removing some of the billboards as a result.
The billboards depict the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, holding a gun in his left hand and a microphone in his right. At least two were near schools.
A studio spokesman said Friday that Paramount was evaluating the locations of the billboards and taking some down. He declined further comment.
THE PLOT:
"Get Rich or Die Tryin'" stars 50 Cent as a drug dealer who turns away from crime to pursue his true passion - music. It is scheduled to open Nov. 9.
The PC anti-gun police strike again. The picture obviously is supposed to show an ironic juxtaposition that condems dangerous vices rather than promoting it.
50 Cent has sure gotten rich selling this trash. What a talentless a**clown.
While this thug is going up on billboards outside failing inner city schools, Rosa Parks is being buried with only token attention. I think that just says it all.
But, but, but, he's been shot nine times. He's real thug-life. Fitty's tight, yo.
Yeah, real great role model. He often wears a bulletproof vest in public. The sad thing is- the plot could be redeeming. It would not be so bad if it was about a guy who left the world of crime to live a normal, honet life. But instead, Hollywood has tp pervert it, because if you ain't thug, you ain't coo.
Here's DMX,Role model...oh wait he's just got out of jail and couldn't wait to take a dump!
HAHA. Yeah dogg, DMX is da shiznit. Seriously though, part of DMX's schtick is he barks like a dog. I know when I have kids, I DEFINETLY want them to grow up to be barkers. How anyone can take these guys seriously, I have no idea.
