Indonesia: 3 Christian girls beheaded (politically incorrect version)

Bandits beheaded the girls as they walked to school. One of the heads was left outside a church. President Susilo has condemned the attack and the head of the police talked of “helpless victims”.

Poso (AsiaNews/Agencies) – Three Christian girl students were beheaded this morning. The victims are Yusriani Sampoe aged 15 years, Theresia Morangke aged 16 and Alvita Polio aged 19. Another girl, Noviana Malewa, suffered serious facial injuries; she was admitted to hospital where she is being kept under strict surveillance. The girl will be an important witness to clarify the nature of the attack, perpetrated with sharp instruments as the girls walked to a private Christian school in Poso, central Sulawesi. The bodies were discovered at 7.30 local time (8.30 in Jakarta) near Bambu village. The head of one of the girls was left outside a Christian church in Kasiguncu village and another two near a police station around 10km away from the scene of the crime.

The state news agency Antara reported that the girls were attacked by unknown assailants as they covered the 9km distance between the school and their homes, dressed in uniform. Commissioner Oenggoeseno, head of the Sulawesi police, said the motive for the crime was not important given that the victims were completely helpless girls.

As soon as news of the attack reached President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, he cancelled all his appointments and called an urgent meeting with his security officials, including his vice-President, Jusuf Kalla, and heads of the army, police and intelligence. The president expressed his pressing concern about the tragedy: “I forcefully condemn these attacks against civilization and I call on the local people to collaborate with the government to guarantee a successful outcome of the investigations and to maintain security”. He said police forces will be sent to maintain security and to prevent escalation of tensions. The attack has already served to increase tensions between Muslims and Christians. Poso is fertile terrain to trigger discord between the two communities; the latest incident highlights just how serious the situation is, given that the murders came only a few days before the Muslim festival of Idul Fitri (to mark the end of the fasting month of Ramadan), popularly known as “Lebaran”. The long-drawn out conflict in Ambon, which has claimed thousands of victims, was ignited by clashes which broke out just a few days before Idul Fitri.

A less sanitized version of the story.

Prayers for these children and their families.

Some people need killing.

And I'm not talking about the innocent victims here.

What does motive have to do with breaking the law or murder. What a sad statement that there can actually be a reason for such a crime in some peoples minds. That is actually what his point was.

This is profoundly sad. Southeast Asia is, in truth, a mix of religions, only one of which cannot accept the beliefs of others. Tolerance is a "tool" the Islamists use to bring down the wrath of the UN when non Muslims defend themselves. Our prayers for these girls. My wife grew up as a Christian in Southeast Asia, but in a truly tolerant place (ie. One without Islam).

First of all the refreshing statement in this sad story. This is stating the obvious, in retrospect, but caught my eye because it underscores the silliness of Political Correctness that we are being indoctrinated with. The training is almost complete, but this statement sets me back several years. I will no longer accept that every crime has a "motive" I give a rat's elbow about.

The other thing is I realize is that I have but the vaguest clue about where this took place; first impression, Philipines; second Indonesia. I am still unsure; all those names of people and places might as well be names of the maria on the moon!
I suppose again I need to apologize (to the UN?) for not knowing the name of the remotest islands in some areas of the world. Might it be too much in news reports to expect a mention of what country we're talking about?

Interesting choice of words for this sad story.

The Left must be very upset. Where are the protests? Where is Cindy Sheehan?

"I forcefully condemn these attacks against civilization"

Refreshing honesty.

Islam is truly a cancer on civilization.

Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia that consists entirely of islands—more than 17,500 of them. The islands of Indonesia stretch across more than 3,200 miles (5,150 kilometers) of tropical ocean along the equator. Indonesia has the fourth largest population in the world. Only China, India, and the United States have more people. Indonesia occupies a strategic position in Southeast Asia, and its political and economic conditions are important to the stability of the region.

Picture Indonesia flag and coat of arms

Indonesia has an extremely diverse population. Its people belong to about 300 different ethnic groups and speak more than 250 languages. They had no common language until the late 1920's, when Indonesian nationalists provided one by creating a new language called Bahasa Indonesia, a modified form of the Malay language. Bahasa Indonesia, which means language of Indonesia, became a force for national unity. Another unifying force is Islam. Most of Indonesia's people are Muslims, and they make up the world's largest Muslim population.

Picture Fields of rice

Indonesia is rich in natural resources. Many of its islands were formed by volcanoes, so they are mountainous and rise steeply from the sea. Much of the soil is especially fertile because it contains volcanic ash, which is rich in nutrients. The rich soil supports bountiful fields of rice, and Indonesia ranks among the world's leading rice producers. Other major farm products include coffee, cocoa, palm oil, rubber, spices, and tea. Lush tropical rain forests cover about two-thirds of Indonesia. Teak and other valuable hardwood trees and rare plants and animals live in the forests. Elephants, rhinoceroses, and tigers roam among the trees. Underground lie deposits of oil, natural gas, bauxite, coal, copper, gold, nickel, silver, and tin.

Indonesia in brief

The Netherlands ruled Indonesia during most of the period from the 1600's to 1945. Indonesia declared its independence in 1945 and fought the Dutch until 1949, when they gave up their control.

How sensitive the Islamics are! If some "infidel" somewhere in the world mis-handles a Koran, oh how agonizing and offensive it is! Surely nothing more horrible has ever happened in the history of the world than some story of how a Koran was allegedly mis-handled -- immediately the Islamists protest world-wide and the politically correct West beats itself with chains. The Islamists can't bear to see a book mis-handled. Okay, they can't bear to see a religious book mis-handled. Okay, they can't bear to see THEIR religious book mis-handled and other than that, they don't have much use for books.

If, on the other hand, Islamic terrorists behead some schoolgirls, why, that is not "offensive" at all! After all, if the Islamists torture and murder their own children (especially girls), why should we think they would be any kinder to "infidel" children (especially "infidel" girls)? And the leftists will make excuses for the terrorists and they might even condemn the Christians for having the audacity to offend Islamic sensibilities by doing something "extreme" like allowing girls to go to school. We will be urged to "understand" how Islamofascists could be driven to a murderous rage by the mere sight of girls going to school (rather than girls being forced to push a plow or being raped which is more the Islamofascist custom and which of course we are expected to "respect").

The motive shouldn't be hard to discover.

In Indonesia, many thousands of innocent Christians have already been murdered by Mulsim fanatics from one end of the country to the other. These were helpless Christian girls innocently walking to a Christian school. When they catch the the killers they will no doubt be Muslim men.

You do the math. The Commissioner apparently doesn't want to!

Aaaah, the religion of peace strikes again. What could be a more 'peaceful' way to end Ramadan than with beheading of Christians, and females no less? Prayers on the way.

He said the heads of the three dead girls were found several miles from their bodies.

Sick ba$tards.

In a heavily-Muslim-majority country like Indonesia, that would not work very well.

Satan is pleased. He has many worshippers on earth today. Most of them have allowed themselves to believe that he is God. They will pay a heavy price for their self-deception.

(You can take this as literal or metaphorical. It works just as well both ways.)

We (you and I) can't change the world.

But we can pray. No one can stop us from praying.

The fervent effectual prayer of the righteous accomplishes much.

Now all we (you and I) must do is become righteous. I'll leave that to you and your conscience.
