I notice that Mark Steyn doesn't want to get into the foodfight, and doesn't want to criticize his host or make him uncomfortable. But he's clearly unhappy with the fact that Hewitt has just written a hit piece for the New York Times.
And he hits the nail on the head with this: "Yes, you know, my friend, David Frum, and some of the other National Review guys have got some pretty fancy pedigrees behind them. But I was stunned by the amount of grass roots anger with this."
He also understands the reasons for the anger, and explains it pretty well. But he has carefully tried to avoid getting mixed up in this dispute.

Why have we got into a huge criminal investigation, defending some obscure matter relating to the spouse of a buffoon, and an unqualified fraud who basically lied about everything he discovered in Niger? I don't know, so I'll just blame the Senate. They seem to specialize in screwing things up.

MS: I think that's fair. I mean, I think with Bob Bork, for example, Bob is a tremendously...in some ways, a tremendously gloomy man with a dark view of human nature. Could anyone expound on this a little bit? I was in the fourth grade when Bork was nominated, so I really don't know too much about him, besides his having been "borked."

HH couldnt carry Steyn's jockstrap.
He could if it was a jockstrap that was very, very loyal to Bush.
To: John Robertson
He could if it was a jockstrap that was very, very loyal to Bush. Please. HH is an intellectual lightweight.

Love Steyn.
When he finally links it to the Rockefeller Memo(http://www.intelmemo.com/), perhaps he'll see this indictment for what it is, part of a plan to impeach the President. Which is not the last piece of this puzzle.
The Democrats are systematically trying to take out the top tier Republicans, Frist, Delay, Rove to get Bush, Scooter to get Cheney, so that the 25th Ammendment will kick in, and we'll end up with Jay Rockefeller in the WH.
And that would not be a good thing.
The MSM are dutifully reporting the script from the playbook that the Libby indictment was REALLY about WMD. Bush lied about WMD. Bush manipulated intel to attack Iraq... and so on.. it's started already tonight.
The CIA is at war with the WH, and I've no doubt will do their damndest to deliver the plan.

Robert Bork was nominated by Ronald Reagan he came with a vast amount of experience and writing and the democrat controlled senate and the left wing interest groups went after him like a Pit bull on a T bone, He was voted out of committee without recommendation and voted down on the floor as I recall. He's a very Pessimistic man, His book Slouching towards Gomorrah while making some good points will leave you in a depression that it will take years of therapy to recover from if read cover to cover.

HH is a very smart man, experinced in politics, that understands the BIG picture in American politics. He will never advocated single issue voters. (who can) He also understands that if you lose elections, you can`t do much to support your position.
The proof of his point is how the media is dealing with the administration this week. They are all going to jail, and Bush can`t govern,AND HIS SUPPORTERS HAVE LEFT HIM.
Wonder how the Arab press is reporting this?
But thats OK, you got Miers.
