BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Gov. Kathleen Blanco has invited President Bush to speak to lawmakers next month during a special legislative session that will focus on hurricane recovery and relief efforts.

Blanco sent a letter to the White House on Thursday, saying she was grateful for the President's help since Hurricanes Katrina and Rita slammed into Louisiana and asking Bush to consider addressing the Legislature sometime during the session, which is planned to begin Nov. 6. She said the state's recovery will depend on federal help.

"I can assure you that you will be welcomed by the leadership of Louisiana as a true friend and ally," the governor wrote in the letter, released by her office on Friday.

sounds more like a full-scale ambush!.

The whimps-that-call-themselves-republicans will trip over each other to accept the "kind" invitation of the socialist/communist pigs and then wonder why they were made to look like idiots --- again.

Where's a Reagan when you really need on?

It's hard when you're up to your armpits in alligators to remember you came here to drain the swamp. Ronald Reagan

Politics is supposed to be the second oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first. Ronald Reagan

I think the reason Blanco wants Bush there is she probably thinks it may help her when she comes up for re election as I think Bush has a lot of respect there in NOLA now.

You got it wrong... it was not Blankkkko, it was Katrina Landrieu, U. S. Senator from Louisiana, who wanted to assault the President. Stupid woman...

That was Senator Landrieu, I think.

I hope the good folks in LA throw Blanco & Landrieu out first chance they get.

38%? I'm shocked it's even that high. Gotta be one of those phoney polls.
