Bear in mind, these indictments have almsot nothing to do with Wilson/Plame/CIA. Libby's accused of lying about what he and reporters did or didn't discuss about the topic in general. That's it. Unless the indictment is amended or expanded at some future date, the prosecution will not involve whether Plame was improperly outed or not.

There was no connection to the outing of Plame regarding Libby.
Had he taken the 5th, no charges would have happened.
This was a trap and being it would look bad to not testify before the grand jury as a member of the White House staff, he was screwed.
Bottom line, Novak said he had nothing to do with the outing of Plame. The prosecutor said there was no outing of Plame by Libby.
Once the prosecutor realized there was no case that Plame was not covert, the investigation should have been over. That could have been figured out in the first month.
Libby is in trouble for not testifying to the prosecutor's satisfaction over a non-relevant issue regarding something that wasn't a crime. How do you charge someone with potentially 30 years of prison over this?
