Now is a good time for Cheney to resign due to his health and loss of counsel. That way, the next President of the United States can be put into position.

We have a great administration in the Whitehouse right now. If the democrats had gone after Clinton's purgery, obstruction of justice, and lying to the American people with the same fervor, it would have taken half the time at half the price! Plus, Libby is just council. Imagine if he were the President!!
The Bush administration handled this very well. We should be proud.

What do you think of Jeb? Think he would have a good chance running?

No, it's to soon. The plan is to promote Condi after the half way mark. XXII Section 1 in our Constitution.

I am concerned not about politics, but the language, borders and culture of this union...

I could give a rats rump about Bush, Cheney cabal etal...

Close the borders and then I would agree with you...time to get concerned not about politics, but the union...

Thanks, I would prefer to stick with Cheney unless Bush can come up with a good, solid, conservative, pro-life candidate for the presidency.

Otherwise, better to let the political process run its course.

He certainly can't give the job to his brother Jeb. Only Kennedys are allowed to do that.

And Bush should nominate Condi as his VP.

WELL SAID!!!

Now hopefully Bush will issue a blanket pardon to all involved so Fitzgerald can find something useful to do with his time.

That would be about as stupid a political move as it is possible to make.

There are a lot of stupid that still believe Clinton was impeached because of the oral sex, and not that he was being sued for harassment and was not truthful about this case probably involving sexual harassment.

Why does Cheney need to resign? The results of his physical over the summer was fine. He is a very valuable member of the administration, Bush relies heavily on him, and he is the man I want to take over if the worst happens. Plus, I don't think Cheney wants to go anywhere and I don't think Bush wants him to go anywhere. Resigning now is just going to give more fodder to the Democrats. Also, just because we are the party in power doesn't mean we can't have a primary without a sitting president or vice-president running. We can and I think it will make 2008 interesting, which isn't a bad thing for this political junkie. And we might need a Republican without direct ties to the White House if Bush's approval ratings are anemic in 2008. Cheney doesn't leave until 1/20/2009.
