LOL!
You cannot lie in court. Period. I really do not see why that is such a difficult concept. There is no justice for anyone if you can lie just as long as the case turns out a certain way. Our legal oaths must mean something or we have no working judicial system at all (which may be true anyway, but still).

"I read somewhere that some of Libby's notes recovered by Fitz were on a hard drive that Libby thought he had wiped clean. That would be enough for an obstruction indictment."
Maybe an indictment, but that's a long way from a conviction. He would have to have corroborating evidence showing that Libby purposely deleted the files in order to conceal information from the prosecutor.

Or Libby has been "over-charged" in order to get him to plea to the lesser of the counts.

WAS VALRIE PLAME A "COVERT AGENT" AT THE TIME OF THE LEAK? Why can't anyone answer this? If not this was all a hubub about nothing and Libby fell into the trap. Does anyone have any docs confirming Plame was a "Covert Agent" at the time of the Leak?

Exactly. There was no crime regarding the leak. None was committed. Lying to a grand jury is serious but they'll probably arrange a plea bargain and get it down to a misdemeanor. As far as scandals go, it wasn't there and the libs are seriously depressed. Rove's still at large.

what a bore. anyone can be charged with anything with no evidence. as i've said in previous posts, only Bill Clinton could not be even questioned when accused of rape. I would be arrested for rape if my wife or some girl simply accused (INDICTED) me of the crime. There would have to be no evidence for me to be charged. Simply, her word.

Nope, she wasn't. That's why Fitzy had to double check to make sure he was authorized to investigate other matters outside of that one.

Who told Novack? Why was he not called to testify? It's time for him to come forward and name names.

CNBC ran the trailer "Libby Lied"
What happened to "allegedly"? I guess that only applies to real criminals.
And indictment is NOT a conviction.

It's maddening ... what the Clinton's GOT AWAY WITH!
It still PISSES ME OFF!
BOTH should be in prison.
Instead they couldn't act more self righteous.
Sickening.

Listening to CNN- Tim Russert is mentioned heavily in the indictment.
So his reporting hasn't exactly been unbiased.

Or Libby has been "over-charged" in order to get him to plea to the lesser of the counts. That could be. That kind of thing happens all the time.

Previous behaviour of special prosecutors versus today`s Fitzgerald who in desperation is trying to salvage his reputation on a junk indictment.Total contradiction to crimes that were left unindicted by previous SP`s who investigated the Clintons.
Libby`s lawyers will probably call Wilson and Plame to the witness stand.

"I have repeatedly said that Bush's biggest failure has been his refusal to broom the clintonoids out of his administration. "
Yep.
Remember that one of Clinton's first tasks was to get rid of all the Federal prosecutors and replace them with his own people?
To: lugsoul
LOL. I'm pretty amazed that a lawyer as skilled as Libby would do something so dumb. It really doesn't make sense. Libby was a white-collar defense lawyer, he knows all about prosecutors' tactics and what a good prosecutor can find and force out of you. I'm quite disappointed that Libby gave Fitz anything to indict him on.
We made a lot of hay out of Bill Clinton lying to a grand jury and Hillary making false statements in the Travelgate investigation. We can't be here defending Scooter Libby for doing the same thing.

Perhaps now the Bush White House will understand it is most stupid to be chatting with the left-wing media.
