We are conservatives, NOT CRIMINALS!!!

Posted on 10/28/2005 7:28:37 AM PDT by Allen H

IF there are indictments of Karl Rove or Lewis Rove, or any administration officials for that matter, it will only be further proof of the defeated democrats strategy of wresting control of the Congress and White House from the Republicans. They’ve proven that since they can’t beat Republicans at the ballot box to regain the Congress, they will use the Courts to make legislation with activists Judges, and now they are using the legal system to remove by force important conservatives from both branches of government, using trumped up charges of vague and ambiguous "crimes" to get back control.

If Republicans demonstrate a "culture of corruption", then why is it that the last President impeached and proved guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice was bill clinton, democrat, and the last Congressman convicted and jailed was james trafficant, democrat. And the Governor of New Jersey, Jim McGreevey, a democrat, was forced to step down after having a homosexual extra marital affair with someone he placed in a high position of his administration who was totally unqualified to have such a position. And it is the staffs of Governor bill richardson, democrat, Senator harry reid, democrat, Senator charles schumer, democrat, congresswoman nancy pelosi, democrat, who have been involved with dubious activities like convictions for money laundering, giving funds to PACs who then gave it to democrat preachers who spent it on themselves, using forged documents against a Governor who was opposing a democrat Senator’s agenda, taking trips on corporations expense, then later that company being given millions in government contracts, and then the company donates to the democrats campaign who pushed to get them to contract, and it goes on and on.

Not to mention that I don’t recall hearing of any Republicans stuffing classified documents down their shorts, then shredding them, returning only copies, and denying taking them like sandy burglar did. I don’t recall any Republicans having had affairs with staffers half their age, and then that staffer turns up dead in a park months later. And no Republican I know of was involved with the Oil for Food scandal, unlike a certain democrat Senator I know, who also got off scott after drowning a girl in his car after driving it off a bridge. His sentence for that was getting to be a Congressman and Senator for over 40 years. Sweet deal. So really, where is the culture of corruption in American politics?

This is what conservatives will face if they dare to defeat democrats. That is the new crime of the 21st Century. Opposing and defeating democrats IS a crime now, as is being a conservative and fighting for those value. Tom DeLay, Bill Frist, Karl Rove, Lewis Libby, and George W. Bush aren’t the only ones who are guilty for being conservative. We ALL are guilty. To liberals, we are ALL criminals, we just don’t get charged because we aren’t the ones in positions of authority in the conservative movement, but make no mistake, if it was any of us who was a Republican House Majority Leader, or Majority Leader of the Senate, or the President or Vice President’s Chief of Staff, or the President himself, it would be US who was being accused and indicted of crimes. Crimes that lack evidence. Crimes that lack witnesses. Crimes that broke no law. Other than the highest of offenses in politics today. Daring to oppose and defeat.

So ALL conservatives must be strong and imaging how outraged we would be if we were accused of crimes we know we didn’t commit, just because we stood up to be counted, and fought for the conservative ideals we held so dear. Defending freedom and liberty in the world and refusing to embrace the lie that it’s all or even mostly America’s fault. Putting an end to activist courts, who abuse and malign the U.S. Constitution, using foreign puppet precedent and ambiguous hypothetical interpretations to adjudicate from the bench, making new laws from the bench to bypass the will of the American people, that those activist judges KNOW would be defeated at the ballot box, replacing them with strict constructionist originalist conservative Judges who will uphold and defend the Constitution, not rewrite it to take away someone’s home for profit, or tell States they can’t execute violent murderers of children or elderly people, just because the murderer is 16 or 17. Demanding lower taxes and accountable government. Insisting that traditional marriage and family values be preserved, not cheapened and devalued. And insisting that this IS ONE NATION UNDER GOD, whether the aclu and atheists like it or not.

To democrats, ALL of those things are crimes, and we are ALL guilty, so we all must refuse to accept the indictment of what is right and proper, and push back the liberal hate mongers and their biased accomplices in the liberal media, who distort fact and report only one side for their liberal democrat masters. And next November, when conservatives go to the ballot box in droves, we will acquit ourselves, and DeLay, Frist, Rove, Libby, Bush, and all the rest, by proving emphatically, ONCE AGAIN, that conservatism IS NOT A CRIME!!! And being a conservative and fighting for those values WILL NOT BE CRIMINALIZED!!! The democrats and the media are slow learners for certain. Most Americans are political and ideological and social conservatives, and the democrats are already in desperate need of this lesson being taught to them once again. Just like it was in ’04, and ’02, and 2000, and 1998. Just like when they lost the House in 1994. Just like when they saw how badly they lose when an unashamed conservative took the White House by storm in 1980 and 1984. Conservatives can teach this lesson for as long as they demonstrate they don’t grasp it. And next November, the democrats will be smacked with the people’s ruler and learn it again. Conservatism is not a crime, even if democrats indict us for it. And being conservative will not be criminalized, no matter how many of us they attack. The truth ALWAYS comes out, just like a candle chases away the darkness. The light of conservatism will beat back the darkness of liberalism, and the country WILL NOT slip back into the darkness of liberal domination and moral and ethical erosion. We will fight to do it, and we will win. And since liberals do so clearly want a fight, then FINE, let's give it to them. A fight on the SCOTUS nominee, and on ALL OTHER ISSUES they attack us on. They don't know how to use the military to fight so liberals sure don't have a chance of winning a political fight, especailly since we're the ones with ethics and values on our side. Liberals will lose and the conservative will of the people WILL prevail. So help us God.

If Libby is in fact indicted, I look forward to hearing Democrats explaining how lying to a Grand Jury is a bad thing...now.

I'm more concerned about the DeLay prosecution than I am about Libby. The DeLay prosecution is purely partisan, while I suspect that Fitzgerald is less partisan and more ego driven.

DeLay claims political persecution
Oct. 28, 2005 at 9:47AM '

Indicted U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay, R-Texas, has lashed out in another letter to constituents branding his prosecution the "politics of personal destruction."

He said he has come under attack because he's been a strong advocate of conservative causes, the Houston Chronicle reported Friday.

This is the second letter DeLay has sent to supporters since he was indicted on election law violations last month. DeLay has repeatedly said he is a victim of political persecution by District Attorney Ronnie Earle, a Democrat.

"Because of their decade of defeat, Democrats have now dropped to the least common denominator -- the politics of personal destruction," DeLay said, using the same defense mounted by former President Clinton during his impeachment.

DeLay said the prosecution against him is part of a larger pattern of "liberals" using the criminal justice system against conservatives.

through out history, a defeated enemy fights it's most desperate and costly battle at the end of the war. we have arrived there, and must engage them. they are defeated, and they are throwing every deperate move they can at us. we will persevere!!! continue to hold your head high, and do not deny who and what you are, as the enemy must do................it is just a matter of time now

Ain't it the truth. Republicans fought under the rules and guidelines of our system of government for over 50 years to regain control of the Congress. The democrats only fought for a decade, and have now given up using our system of government to regain control, instead, abusing the legal and judicial system to take by force what the majority of voters refuse to give them back. This is DEFINITELY the next phase of American politics, and the sooner ALL conservatives get used to that and fight it, the better. The liberals will not win doing this either. The American people are too smart for that. At least a majority of them are.

Yeah funny how now the same people who during the clinton mafia didn't think there was any legitimacy to "lying to a Grand Jury" charges, now suddenly think it's the worst thing on the planet. It's like I've said for years. Liberals are addicted to situational ethics. This is just another example of that.

I aggree 100%. DeLay is the BIG fight conservatives need to be getting on board with now. DeLay is being rail roaded big time, and most conservatives do not fully understand just how critical he is to making sure the conservative agenda is brought to fruition with votes on the House bloor. Blunt, while a nice guy and conservative is NO Tom DeLay. The sooner DeLay is Majority Leader again, the sooner liberals will be in more trouble.

AWESOME! I hadn't seen that. Thanks! DeLay is definitely the train that ALL conservatives need to climb on board and ride him all the way to crushing the liberal attempt to criminalize conservatism. The GOP would be wise to remove all daylight between themselves and DeLay.

no problem, throw the libs a bone - errh scooter - with all they were dreaming ala 22 people charged, etc., it's really a laugh (though still disappointing on WH behalf) - nothing changes the fact Joe Wilson remains a proven LIAR, however.

It is not just ego driven, it is money driven. The guy has done nothing but milk the government for two years. Now his free ride is about to expire and he needs an indictment to keep the money coming in. Another year of sucking milk from the American taxpayer.

Has Rove or Libby "lied"? The last I heard is that Rove may have forgotten a conversation he had with Matt Cooper 4 years ago.

If Fitzgerald indicts Rove for a memory lapse all future testimony to any federal grand jury will have one answer: "I refuse to answer on the grounds that it may tend to incriminate me".

I doubt he gets paid any more than he did before he got the job. Maybe he's hoping that this exposure will eventually make him rich and famous in private practice, but I would not count on it.

Personally, I sympathize with the notion that witnesses should not lie to grand juries, even if there is no "underlying crime." Afterall, how can you determine that there is no "underlying crime," unless people tell the truth? On the other hand, if he's going to use that rationale for prosecuting his witnesses, then he should not limit himself to investigating Administration employees. He should be asking whether Wilson, Plame, and the various reporters told the truth, as well.

As tired as I am of all of the speculation, I see that speculation itself is the heart of the democratic strategy. The outcome itself to all of this Rove/Libby/Plame nonsense is overshadowed by all of the suspense leading up to a verdict. What the democrats want to do is keep everyone talking about this stuff day-in and day-out because then it prevents us from getting anything important done, which of course negatively impacts the republican poll numbers and keeps the dems in the running for 2006.
