LOS ANGELES - George Takei, who as helmsman Sulu steered the Starship Enterprise through three television seasons and six movies, has come out as a homosexual in the current issue of Frontiers, a biweekly Los Angeles magazine covering the gay and lesbian community.

George Takei: Why, because I'm gay!
isthisnickcool: Hey, I heard you the first time. Roughly 2%-3% of the population may be queer. So, again, why is this important?
George Takei: Because, you right wing hetro, I'm famous and I'm gay!

isthisnickcool: Yea, you see I don't care and I don't know anyone that does. Except for maybe the queers down in the Houston Montrose area or clusters of queers in other parts of the country. Or the gays in the media that are responsible for making sure that today everyone knows that some has been actor that likes to wash his mouth out with fecal matter is "gay". That is what you guys do, right? Have anal sex then oral sex? Or is it the other way around?

Star Trek fans have known this for years. He shows up at conventions with his "partner."
BTW, George Takei may be gay, but Hikaru Sulu is evidently not. The character is married and has a daughter in a later movie.
When will he be getting a new show on HGTV?
he always looked a little excited whenever they mentioned the "Captan's Log"...
