Alisyn Camerota of Fox News is OK!
She is co-hosting the first hour of Fox & Friends this morning, and got off the following lines:
1. After a discussion of Miers, she bluntly observed, in a manner leaving no doubt she was expressing her own opinion - avoiding Katie Couric's dishonest 'some say' dodge - that Miers was "not the right pick."
2. When it was mentioned that Sen. Diane Feinstein had alleged that 'sexism' was involved in the opposition to Miers, Alisyn scoffed at the notion, commenting dismissively "I don't know about that."
3. When an expert came on to discuss possible replacement picks and mentioned the name of Harvey Wilkinson, the first words out of Alisyn's mouth were "is he a conservative?"
I'm liking her!
She came pretty close on "Fox and Friends" this morning to saying, "Look, the Dems are going to squeal no matter who Bush sends up, so he might as well make his base happy." Not exact wording, but that was the sentiment.
Plus she's a Kiss fan, and that's OK with me.
Yes! When she was interviewing that nervous little SC expert, and he suggested nominating someone who could get 70-90 votes, she seemed skeptical, as if there's no sufficiently conservative candidate out there who could garner that kind of support, so, as you say, don't worry about it.
I've been very pleasantly surprised by Alisyn this morning. Somehow I had the impression that her politics were kind of squishy. Apparently not!
Ahhh. You've picked up on that one too.
I always assume that "some say" means Katie's housekeeper, nanny, or dinner party guests.
With all due modesty, aren't I something of a Katie expert around here? Note my tagline!
Yup!
You sure are!
I'd say you're *the* Katie expert.
And while I am not, the infamous "some say" has been on my Katie-radar for many years.
Thanks for confirming that ;-)
It will be interesting to see this morning how much time Today accords to the Miers withdrawal, which is real news, versus the possible Plame-gate indictments, which is all speculation.
Yeah on Alisyn. However, on a later segment about scientists discovering that chimps are selfish (duh, so's my dog), she then dutifully reported that scientists theorize that somewhere on the evolutionary path upward from the apes, humans learned to share.
As far as I'm concerned, Alisyn can PERMANENTLY replace E.D. Hill.
Also, it must be a slow news day; they spent about5 minutes on a story about Angelina Jolie wanting more children. Who cares?
And not bad to look at, either. The Fox women are simply incredible.
Right on!
Regards,
Governs
[born liberal, neo-conservative ;-) ]
I can't hold that against her. I'm one of those evolution-believing heathens ;-)
There's plenty of room for Katie to exercise "some say" on the Plame matter. So I think she'll run with it.
Today opened the show with the on-screen graphic "White House Nightmare."
As far as I'm concerned, Alisyn can PERMANENTLY replace E.D. Hill.
No way, We need E.D. as a counter to all those yankees.
As far as "poster natzis", what about people who pick off trolls and assholes. Got a problem with them?
Sorry, meant "Posting Nazis"
The Snooze Media even trotted out old Sandra Day O'Clowner to say that the next nominee should be a woman, since women make up more than half of the population and should have more seats in the political structure.
O'Clowner forgets women vote for men.
O'Clowner is leaving, she is not president and not running for office and has no vote on the matter. Why does she even say anything at all? She should be excluded from any future voting on cases before the court...
Was the Harriet Miers nomination really Carl Rove's way of playing a game of Old Maid with Senate Democrats and RINOs??? Bwahahhahah!
