I didn't mean to offend you or others, but in the case of set-asides and quotas, she helped push through a bar association resolution advocating them - federalism had nothing to do with it.
And when it came to "self-determination" on abortion, I read her speech, and she very clearly seemed to be expressing her own personal views on the matter.

Well, since she never made it to the hearing, that question will never be answered.
As to the rest, the party was pretty well split on that issue back then, there was a small majority for, as legislation indicates. Since that time, we have generally moved to a position against set asides and all quotas, but are still hanging on to some uses of minority helps in education. I suspect that will continue for the foreseeable future, but minority status has changes a lot since then. It will not be too long before whites are a minority.
