A Public Policy Institute of California polls shows none of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's initiatives on the Nov. 8 special election ballot with majority support. The poll also found voters also dissatisfied with the job performance of the governor, the state Legislature and President Bush. All results are from the sampling of likely voters.
_ Proposition 73, the parental notification initiative, had support of 42 percent of likely voters but was opposed by 48 percent.
_ Proposition 74, the teacher tenure initiative, was supported by 46 percent of likely voters and opposed by 48 percent.
_ Proposition 75, the union dues measure, was split evenly among supporters and opponents, at 46 percent.
_ Proposition 76, the governor's spending cap and the centerpiece of his ballot agenda, was favored by 30 percent but opposed by 62 percent, with 8 percent undecided.
_ Proposition 77, the redistricting measure, has supported by 36 percent but opposed by 50 percent, with 14 percent were undecided.
_ Schwarzenegger's approval rating remained low, with 38 percent approving, 57 percent disapproving and 5 percent undecided.
_ Approval for the Legislature was just 21 percent, with 65 percent disapproving and 14 percent undecided.
_ Sixty-two percent of voters said the state is going in the wrong direction; 29 percent said California is headed in the right direction; 9 percent were undecided.
_ Voters also were unhappy with President Bush: 63 percent disapprove of his job performance, 34 percent approve and 3 percent are undecided.
_ Most voters said President Bush's nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court - Harriet Miers, who withdrew Thursday - should not be confirmed: 46 percent no; 31 percent yes; 23 percent undecided.
The poll was drawn from telephone interviews with 1,079 likely voters over a seven-day period ending Oct. 23. It had a sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

I checked for the PPIC poll and it isn't on their website. Gotta wait until tomorrow to see the whole thing. I'm wondering if they polled on 78 thru 80, and if not, why not.

Poll positions
The PPIC poll due out tomorrow has three of the gov's four measures behind and Prop. 75 in a dead heat. The governor's consultants held a briefing today and acknowledged that 76 is trailing, though they said it was behind only narrowly not by the 30 points others have shown. They say 74 is tracking dead even, and they are ahead on 75 and 77.

Say instead... 'til the gravitationally challenged member of the feminine gender begins to vocalize!'
The numbers are SO FAR apart from the SurveyUSA, who has a good track record, it's RIDICULOUS!!

If the original spirit of the Recall of '03 is still alive, I foresee half the measures passing, and now you ask which ones? Depends who shows up to vote.
