Celine Dion Orders Second Child, on Ice (this is about as creepy as it gets...)

Celine Dion Orders Second Child, on Ice

PARIS, October 26, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Celine Dion, 37, told a French magazine that she plans to have her second child in 2007 after her three-year, $100-million contract with Caesar’s Palace Casino in Las Vegas ends. The child, the product of in-vitro fertilization, already exists and is on ice at a fertility clinic in New York City.

“I’m approaching 40 years old, and I have to tend to that,” she told Tele 7 Jours. Another child conceived at the same time was born in 2001. “This frozen embryo that is in New York is my child waiting to be brought to life.”

Although acknowledging that the embryo already conceived by IVF is indeed a child, Dion does not appear to have given recognition to or understood the humanity of the other children that were likely sacrificed during the procedure. IVF most often results in the death of many conceived embryos before one successful pregnancy is maintained. IVF involves the creation of human embryos outside the womb and the implantation of several of these already created tiny humans in the womb of the mother.

Three new studies have shown that on average 42% of ova generated for IVF carry some genetic abnormalities that would prevent a child created from them being brought to term.

Good question. Yes, identical twin almost always share one sack...but if the split of the fertilized ovum occurs early (very early) each half can develop their own placenta. This is rare. Most ovum split later and share one placenta. One placenta (post delivery) equals identical twins; two placentas equals fraternal (a quick way to tell if boy/boy twins or girl/girl twins are not identical, of course blood work confirms this). I always smile when boy/girl twins are questioned as 'identical'.

I have never heard of a growth with an eye...but I have heard of cartlidge, teeth, and hair, growing on a mass...in ab. cavity they are called (I am writing this phonetically) a numoid. They are a benign, auto growth.

From the nasty Discovery (or whatever) story, "soft" growths (like eyes) are generally not discovered, whereas hard growths (like teeth or whatever) are more prone to cause trouble or be discovered on X-rays.

The theory was that they occur with equal frequency, however, as there was no reason for them not to do so.

He is rather creeepy. He was her manager when she was still a teen-age phenom. Reminds me a little of Woody Allen and Mia's adopted daughter - nothing strictly illegal (as far as we know), but definitely creepy.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. For some reason I thought I heard her say that the boys would be identical...and how does she know it's a boy??

Doesn't come close to the embrionic twin on record of a guy who carried his "twin" for 36 years. He looked absolutely pregnant (all photos including the surgery and "afterbirth" were documented) and dropped from 145 to 85 pounds after the surgery. Strangest thing I've ever seen and the details are positively mind boggling. It was on a show that featured the top ten weirdest accidents/surgeries on record.

Theoretically, one could:

(1) select the "sex" of the sperm. This is not all that accurate, but "female" sperm are heavier (and some other different characteristics), being that they have an "X" chromosome, instead of a "Y" and can be sort with some accuracy using a cetrifuge and other methods or

(2) an embryologist can take one cell of the embryo (a blastocyst at the time --- like 32 cells) and do a DNA test on it. This test is very accurrate, but delicate procedurally AND ethically. Not many labs could do it, I would suspect.

or

(3) they could have discovered that the husband has a slightly defective "X" chromosome, which would make all female babies non-viable. With this knowledge, they would know that any embryo that reached the blastocysts stage was almost certainly a boy. (This is actually fairly likely, as it is a cause of a lot of male-based infertility --- half the sperm are non-viable, so your chances of pregnancy drop accordingly.

or

(4) she's just guessing or using "he" in a sex-nuetral manner.

Off topic, I know but your picture is funny and I had to laugh. I will bet she didn't open her gates and home and let them trash (touch) her sh*T. As long as it was somebody elses, it was a different story. Her donating money is no more than what the US taxpayers are doing so that didn't give them the reason to do it either. As far as her wanting another kid? Well I guess that is her business, but it doesn't excuse her ignorance or her input by excusing what was done after the hurricane.Again, good picture, maggief
