When I got my XM I researched the two companies and after reading where if one lived in the bigger cities like NYC, LA, Chicago etc that had lots of skyscrapers etc then Sirius was better reception than XM for whatever reason and out in the boonies XM was better...why I dunno. . .

Funny, my Siriius seems to be just a bit better than my husbands XM, when in the mountains. . .could be just a biased observation on my part. . . ;^) and my car is bigger. . .a little 'higher'. . .

LOL....Well that's kinda what I said Cricket.....just cross out skyscraper and replace with mountain.....:o)

I guess it's the positioning of the satellites or something but yes that was what was told to me. The deeper the canyon be it manmade or natures the sirius was supposed to be better. I spose that XM's satellites dwell on the horizons and the sirius are centered over the CONUS er something to that effect....
