You just watch the Libs & MSM chortle that this capitulation marks the end of W's presidency.

They'll snear, "He can't even control his own supporters anymore."

Who cares what they say? It wouldn't have mattered WHAT Bush/Miers did, the Libs & MSM would have been against him.

When the Libs & MSM start on this line of reasoning (and they already have), they're just proving that they do not understand the word "PRINCIPLE."

There is no stronger, more effective base than the conservative one. So when Bush nominates a real conservative, the unity, outreach, strength, and focus-on-message could be overwhelming.

JMO.

But in fact, he does control them. When he gives them a mushy-middle nominee, the supporters object; but when he nominates a strict constructionist, they rally in support!

Not THAT is what I call having control!
