And now all the Miers haters are gearing up to do the same to the next person the President nominates.
Yeah, just like they did to John Roberts. NOT.

This forum contributed to this situation and undermined the Persident, for good or for ill.

And I am afraid that they think they have succeeded now, Mo. No they have not succeeded ... they have just turned off even more people .. people have tried over the years to keep an open mind to their opinions
Having objections to Meirs is one thing .. turned into liberals and borking her as they did is another
They handled this all poorly

Kristol doesn't give two hoots about the judiciary; he simply wants to destroy this President. Miers was simply his vehicle of choice. The above quote is exactly what we heard from the Clintonistas during the 90s.
It's sad isn't it. We have many in our base that are just as sucked into a personality cult as the left does.

I haven't seen or felt any censorship at all.
What are you talking about? I'd like examples to back up what your claim of censorship.
Expressing opinions and disagreeing IS NOT CENSORSHIP.
Thank you.
To: jennyjenny
I do not see how that helps the party or conservatives at all in the long run.
If the party drifts left, a conservative with core principles and values will NOT drift with it.

. . . please support your opinion with a cite to said qualifications being required by Article and Chapter in the U.S. Constitution.Grow up.
If you believe the Constitutional requirements are the only requirements that should concern us, then I suppose you think Barbra Striesand is qualified to be President: she meets the constitutional requirements, donchaknow.

I have no interest in seeing this woman destroyed. (I haven't engaged in personal attacks on her, and I've criticized the bizarre vitriol oozing from both sides during this sorry episode.)You are correct. I have paid attention. You have not attacked her personally or came close to doing so.

You don't believe in the President's constitutional right to select a SC nominee. That's says all that needs to be said about you.
When did I ever say the President doesn't have the right to select a SC nominee? He has a right to his nominee, I have a right to my opinion. Or do I have to set my Bush Decoder ring to "STRATEGERY" before I can weigh in?
Are you denying me the right to an opinion? Are you against the 1st Amendment? Just asking...

I'm not referring to mainstream conservatives, and you know it.
I'm referring to extremists who hate the President.
If you aren't in that category, you don't need to feel so defensive.

Since you had to spell your name to register here, I'm taking that as a rhetorical question. I will not repeat myself any longer. You are in denial and like I said, I will not shatter your self induced delusions. That's your coping mechanism and I will not dick with it. Suffice it to say, that should you have a epiphany, you will never reveal it to us. Your shame and embarrassment would be too much to over come.
(praying)God grant me the intestinal fortitude to stay off Miers threads from here on out.

OK, "a extremely harsh" and judgmental grandfatherly old gentleman.. but there is still the problem of living in the sky! We have looked around up there across billions of light years and we have not found him or heaven, or any evidence of either. Should I worry about Thor zapping me with a lightning bolt as well? My guess is that it is just as likely. By the way, Christians used to brag about being zealots, when did that change?

Barbra is "technically" qualified - to argue against that would be stupid - as I asked, however, what are YOUR self-imposed extra-Constitutional qualifications?
To: Lloyd227
I wonder = can Bush nominate Thomas for this seat and give him two votes? That would be cool!
To: clawrence3
What are YOUR "qualifications" then for Associate Justice to the Supreme Court? And then, after you spell those out, please support your opinion with a cite to said qualifications being required by Article and Chapter in the U.S. Constitution.Did you have the same viewpoint of qualifications to be President of the United States? Besides age and being a natural born citizen, there aren't many constitutional qualifications for it either.
