EU Threatens Poland for Electing Pro-family President

BRUSSELS, October 26, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The European Union may try to deny Poland its EU voting status because its newly elected President-elect, Lech Kaczynski, opposes the celebration of homosexuality.

The EU is calling Kaczynski’s actions as the mayor of Warsaw, where he banned a “gay pride” parade two years in a row, a potential contravention of article 6 of the Treaty of Nice, which states that countries must protect the rights of minorities. He is also under fire for supporting reintroduction of the death penalty.

Under Article 7 of the Treaty, a country that violates human rights – as defined by the EU – can be deprived of voting rights. “We are going to follow the situation very attentively,” said Jonathan Todd, the principal EU spokesman Sunday.

IOW, the EU supports gay rights, but not the right of people to believe differently, and to oppose gay rights.

I.E., religion (Catholic, Evangelical, Orthodox Jewish)
is wrong, and will suffer sanctions should anyone try to follow the teachings of these groups.

Close. Religions/worldviews other than their religion/worldview (secular humanism) are wrong and are to be opposed with ever-so gradually escalated vigor. That distinction is vital: A) it yanks the rug out from under the separation-of-church-and-state people, and B) keeps the good guys from buying their fallacy of pretended neutrality.

Now you're talking...

The EU will be lucky if they're allowed to join Poland.

The belief that homosexuality is not perverted, deviant behaviour that should be illegal, (like so many other perverted deviant behaviours), is itself a religious belief.

Support for homosexuality is an article of religious faith. Governments who support legalized homosexual acts are imposing religious beliefs on others.

Furthermore, the pro-homosexual relgious belief is a minority belief. The minority are imposing their religious views on the majority by force of arms (government guns).

"...which states that countries must protect the rights of minorities..."

So the EU is saying that homosexuals are a minority? Gee, and all this time, I thought that term was about racial minorities.

Using this line of thought, anyone can be a minority and must be "protected." Geesh

I don't know, and why would you ask a question like this anyway, other than to stir up some ridiculous linkage between the two common names? For all I know the name "Kaczynski" is a common Polish name, like the English name Smith or something like that. Why you would link the achievements of Lech Kaczynski, a full fledged Polish citizen and non-U.S. citizen with that of the crazed U.S. unabomber Ted Kaczynski whose family has perhaps been in this country for generations (I don't know and I'm not going to waste my time finding out) is quite appalling. I doubt there is a moral equivalence between the two.

The EU could be useful for Poland in the short term, but it is the EU who needs Poland, not the other way around.
