A few feet higher on that last hit and he'd have won it.

In soccer they would call it Nill/Nill

Backe just impresses the heck out of me with his performance tonight! Exciting ball game, real battles, pitcher-batter.

Backe is due up 3rd, so that may be it. He only has 99 pitches, so Garner may stick with him.

Is that Yo Yo Ma playing cello for Lyle Lovett singing God Bless America?

Lyle sure looks tore up

These games are much more boring than they should be. We're seeing some fine baseball. But ratings are low, and frankly, I'm having trouble staying awake again tonight. I was trying to think why I don't have that old feeling I used to have, even though my team is playing.

It's just my humble opinion, but I feel the lack of real down and dirty announcers like the Harry Carays and Jack Brickhouses of yore. They could make even the most crummy games exciting.

These two guys announcing for this series are informed, have every fact under the sun at their fingertips, but they lack the passion. I really wish they WOULDN'T be so neutral so we could at least get involved loving or hating 'em. I wish they used some dese, dems and dos. I wished they didn't have made-for-announcing voices. I wished they'd burp at least once.

I wish they didn't sound like they made IBM commercials on the side.

Even Lyle Lovett just sounded like Digger O'Dell.

Great job Brandon - do you let him bat in the 7th? I would have said yes before the double but now I'm not sure.
