Waiting til the 11th hour for an extension shows just how weak this whole thing is.

Fitzgerald has nothing. This is tantamount to an admission.

Gonzales should shut down this investigation.

An extension? Would this shyster please get the suspense over with? I know the MSM needs more rumor and gossip for filler but jeeeez.

If that a@@hole can't figure it out by now, he is one of the most lame prosecutors in history. What a pure nut case. All he is doing is keeping his name on the MSM for political or ego building.

It is possible that Mr. Fitzgerald's visit was to discuss how court personnel would cope with the indictment and arraignment of high-profile White House officials.

They are positively frothing at the mouth. Here's hoping they are in for a huge letdown.

Prosecutor Meets With Chief Judge Could Signal That Fitzgerald Is Seeking Extension

Put an end to the charade. Fitzgerald's investigation is looking more and more like an Aruba-style investigation that checks on the barn after the horses are gone. Reports about FBI questioning neighbors of Plame YESTERDAY indicate a botched investigation.

Boy, what a spectacle this is.

Just a feeling, mind you, but it doesn't look like this will end well for the White House.

I just don't see the problem here. Everybody in town knew this woman worked at Langley. Hell, even I knew and I'm not in the media any longer(thank God for that).

Perhaps he was meeting with the Chief Judge to say--that's all folks...I'm done and no indictments??

Works for me...

Fitzy doesn't even have a ham sandwich to indict.

Hope the Judge closes this farce now.

This guy is all over the place today. Before he was at Rove's lawyers office, now he is meeting with the judge.

My thought: maybe he offered a deal to Rove's lawyer, Rove's lawyer told him to "get stuffed", now he's shopping around for more time.

Next headline we'll see: Prosecutor Meets With Butcher, Could Signal that Fitzgerald Is Seeking a Salami on Rye. News at 11 PM.

This whole thing has begun to become a SNL skit. I only hope that the investigation hasn't been a complete waste of time, but it appears to be the case.

When I read that FBI agents were conducting last minute interviews with neighbors of Plame I thought, Mmmmm, he's going to ask for an extension, these aren't LAST MINUTE kind of actions. Why? Because the investigation is moving on the the real meat - Miller, Plame, Wilson and the CIA. THAT will take time.

This does not mean ANYTHING. The Chief Judge and Fitz are most likely just touching base, probably more a social visit such as "So, you'll be heading back to Chicago on Monday huh?. Well I enjoyed working with you. Going to do some of that fishing you were telling me about...."
