If the word has no pejorative connotation, I cannot conceive of a reason for it to be used. The word’s very existence is dependant upon the cast it gives to a statement of fact thereby bending its meaning to a more satisfactory (for the spinner) appearance. I will not accept the idea that the original poster’s criticisms consisted of racial ‘spin’. To suggest such a thing is to suggest the criticism was unmerited.

You yourself suggested the criticism was unmerited when you said Condi's picture wasn't distorted because of her race, but because she's a Republican. I agree with that statement, and that was my point from the beginning. The original poster said it was racism, and I disagreed, as did you. See? We agree.
