This isnt about sinking the nominationBush knows how they feel and he isnt going to budge. Even if he wanted to he cant now, because hed be accused of being ruled by an ultra conservative clique.
What this is about is certain people wanting to prove how superior their principles are. Im with you. Its despicable.

Some conservatives don't understand the difference between principles and politics.

Consider the possibility that Conservative principles are indeed superior to Washington politics.

What this is about is certain people wanting to prove how superior their principles are. You mean the principle of having a qualified and proven CONSERVATIVE Supreme Court Justice on the Supreme Court?

This isnt about sinking the nominationBush knows how they feel and he isnt going to budge. There are other ways to end the nomination than just Bush pulling it back. Bush is putting all the heat he can on the senators to make sure she is confirmed.
Conservative Americans are replying by letting the senate know that it is ok to reject her. If Bush goes to war against conservatives, he will lose. The liberals will always hate him no matter what he does. He is already the most fiscal liberal president ever and they still hate him and accuse him of trying to starve people.

I agree with you.
I'm wondering what happened to their principles of "Every nominee deserves and up or down vote, and a fair confirmation hearing" etc. ......

I can't stand Frum, Coulter or Lowry. They are the Conservative equivalent to Micheal Moore and Al Franken. Every time I see one of them on TV I turn the channel.
I haven't read or watched Coulter since she said we should carpet bomb the mid-east and force the survivors into Christianity - (she has some fine Christian values/sarcasm).

No, it's about getting a well-qualified proven conservative on the court.
