Fired KNBR sports talk jock Larry Krueger and ex-morning show producer Tony Rhein have filed a pair of blistering lawsuits against their former employer -- saying they were fired after the infamous "brain-dead Caribbean hitters" flap simply so the station could keep its deal to broadcast Giants games.
Just when it looked like the storm might pass with a weeklong suspension for Krueger and an apology from the mike man, KNBR's morning crew rained on the parade six days later by playing comedy bits from "South Park" and from Dana Carvey's "Church Lady'' to mock Alou for calling Krueger a messenger of Satan.
Krueger, Rhein and station program director Bob Agnew were summarily fired.
Among the highlights:
-- That Salvadore prodded Krueger to go after the Giants on air, telling him in the parking garage just hours before the famous "Caribbean" broadcast Aug. 3, "Do me a favor, pal, rip the s -- out of the Giants.''
-- That Krueger had received "confidential telephone calls'' from members of the Giants management team, saying Baer had called Salvadore to demand that Krueger be fired but "that Salvadore had replied that KNBR would decide what, if any, discipline Krueger would receive.''
"This response infuriated the Giants and resulted in Baer putting a transcript of Krueger's Aug. 3 show, with critical remarks highlighted, on Alou's desk to provoke Alou into attacking Krueger,'' the suit says.
-- That Baer then arranged to have Krueger go to the ballpark to meet Alou for what was supposed to be a face-to-face apology. "However, no one from the Giants attempted to set up a one-on-one meeting. Baer's game plan was simple: Have Krueger approach Alou unannounced, and watch Alou explode.''

Who in hell is salvadore?
In their suits, which seek unspecified damages for defamation and breach of contract, Krueger and Rhein point accusing fingers at station vice president and general manager Tony Salvadore and Giants executive vice president Larry Baer for setting the stage for just about everything that went wrong.
KNBR's Salvadore -- who is still waiting for his station's sale to an undisclosed buyer to be finalized -- declined to comment on the suit, saying, "This is news to me. I know nothing of it.''

Man, I miss Frank Dill.
Still Ok to take steroids while playing though.
The most tolerant place in the country. So long as it's PC.
If the Giants could find a gay coach in the MBL, they would make him a manager in a NY second.
MBL = MLB
