The reason the NAACP picked Rosa Parks as the "test case" to be publicized was that she has the lowest vulnerability to the expected smear campaign. This, shall we say, erodes the credibility of certain commentators on this thread.
I'm glad that you commented on this. As a black woman who was born in the mid 1960's, I've heard nothing but the story of a tired seamstress who refused to give up her seat. Nothing was said about her being an officer of the NAACP or about other women coming forward and being passed over because they weren't squeaky clean. After learning about her involvement with the NAACP, I've had mixed feelings about what she did. I wish that her story had been presented with honesty.
