The savage left-wing attack on Judith Miller from inside and outside of the New York Times completely misses the point. She is under attack for being a lackey of the Bush Administration when she failed to do the administration and the public a big favor. She could have done a potential Pulitzer Prize-winning story that could have broken the Joseph Wilson case wide open. It is a story exposing the Wilson mission to Africa as a CIA operation designed to undermine President Bush.
For 85 days in jail, Miller protected her source, Lewis Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff, but the fact remains that she never used the explosive information Libby gave her. Now we know, according to Miller's account, that Libby told her about a CIA war with the Bush Administration over Iraq intelligence and that he vociferously complained to her about CIA leaks to the press. But Miller decided that what Libby told her was not newsworthy. Why?

This is the first time I've heard anyone claim that Libby told Miller that there was a CIA vendetta against the administration. I wonder how Kincaid knows that; is he just guessing, or did Libby or Miller tell him? And if it's true, why has Miller never talked or written about it?
Not if the report was sufficient to achieve the CIA's apparent goal of discrediting the Bush administration, which it certainly was at the time.

The way I understand it, Joe Wilson changed his story when it suited his purposes after his initial report.
So this is why Jerry Sproinger was going nutz this morning. He interpreted this as Rove and Libby were involved with creating the forged documents. I could only stomach a few minutes of his "show."
Some of them won't be able to jump out, because there will be bars on their windows. If they even get windows.

Wilsons trip is nothing more than a wife trying to get her husband a job so he feels worth while. both failed miserably.
He also never made a written report on his trip.
I guess he believes his report was the column written in the Times.
Also, his column concludes--for what it's worth--that no Uranuim "sale" took place. Everyone knows (don't they?) that Bush said the Brits have found that Saddam was "attempting" to purchase Uranium.
Expect a mass koolaid party if the only people is Joe Wilson.

Not sure that is within his scope of power.
I think this issue has wasted way too much bandwidth and ink and everyone should just wait until the Grand Jury is completed as opposed to the liberal approach to saying do something, anything so we can attack.
Thus, they must now spin away the fact that super-secret agent woman has been their source for MANY articles, spanning MANY years, in violation of many laws.
Hence in the mind of the NYT, it's OK for her to leak the WMD stuff starting in the Clinton years and on through the Bush years. This is a supposed greater good. But it's not OK for them to be ALLOWED to get caught, or to even be brought into the discussion, because what they do is too valuable and you people can't have NO one WATCHING government for you. Can you?
In order for their argument to have any validity, the press would have to operate without prejudice. That, of course, is not something the NYT or any other arm of the MSM is capable of doing.
They exist as an arm of the Democrat party. Always willing and able to support in any way they can. If this means receiving classified FBI information from a top Fed and using it to bring down a Republican president, so be it. If it means ignoring witnesses and spinning away the misdeeds of Democrat politicians, so be it. If it means tearing down our military or getting them killed, so be it. If it means calling barbarity civilized and civilization barbaric, so be it. If it means supporting the enemies of America, so be it.
It's all for their greater good, they know best, the laws do no need to apply to them, what they do for us peons is far too important to let the LAW come in the way.
