Dobson may have said some people asked to have thier names removed from consideration, due to the brutality of the confirmation process. IIRC, McClellan said the same thing in a WH presser. But I know of no names being associated with that, except by rumor and inference.
There was also rumor that Owen, I think, said she certatinly hadn't requested her name be removed. Still, mere rumor.
