You are good at the "I understand", "To some, obviouosly", and the other disclaimers, before your next trial close. I have trained a lot of land salesmen.
There is no significant difference, to you, in the black organizations, as opposed to Young Republicans? My understanding of this thread, was in response to Julian Williams alleged discomfort with being black. My original response to you was that there should be no difference. Your response was a deflection of the issue, by straw man argument.
My premise is quite simple. As long as you identify yourself a certain way, don't be offended when everybody else lumps you in with others, doing the same!
You're talking like a fool. No one here was suggesting that ANYONE be ashamed to be white. Got it?
Go take a pill or two.
Thanks for the salesman compliment. Political persuasion is dependent on selling our positions and candidates.
I got your initial sentiment. My response just ignored what I thought was obvious: a white male group within the GOP. I presume someone could establish a white male Republican organization but it might be difficult getting white males to join it.
I also agree with your comment of " As long as you identify yourself a certain way, don't be offended when everybody else lumps you in with others, doing the same!" I have made this point at various organizations I have attended and will continue making the point to get members more involved in our state and county GOP and not just their organization.
What I do not accept is lumping all blacks into the group as liberals and/or Democrats do that, or labeling them by using media and Democrat definitions. And no, I do not see a difference between Denver's Black Republican Forum and our Republican Womens Forum or our Young Republican Forum. Each addresses issues pertaining to their demographic in addition to general political issues. As an aside, Arapahoe County here does have a Republican Men's Forum. It has women members too. The name aside, they cover all issues and do not concentrate on men's issues.
No straw man or deflection was intended. Julian Philips, along with other liberal Democrats see everything in terms of race. Black Republicans typically do not. And yes, his "alleged" discomfort was the original topic.
I must admit i didn't see the show, but from what i read, could he have been trying to be witty?
