Dems Tap Patrick Fitzgerald for Impeachment Probe

Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee are so pleased with reports that Leakgate prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald is about to indict senior White House officials that they want him to lead an impeachment investigation into whether President Bush lied to Congress about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction.

"The CIA leak issue is only the tip of the iceberg,” House Judiciary Democrat Jerrold Nadler complains in a message posted to his web site.

In a letter asking the Justice Department to expand the scope of Fitzgerald's investigation, Nadler says: "We now have reason to believe that high crimes may have been committed at the highest level [and] wrongdoing that may have led us to war and imperiled our national security.”

If there is evidence that Bush or Cheney authorized aides to deliberately mislead lawmakers, Nadler told Congressional Quarterly: "That would be an impeachable offense.'"

The Manhattan Democrat is asking Acting Deputy Attorney General Robert McCallum to direct Fitzgerald to probe efforts by the White House to discredit critics of the Iraq war like former Ambassador Joe Wilson. Nadler wants Fitzgerald to determine whether attacks on Wilson were part of a "broader conspiracy knowingly to mislead Congress into authorizing a war."

Even before leaks from Fitzgerald's investigation indicated he planned indictments, Rep. Maurice Hinchey let slip the Democrats' plan to impeach Bush for alleged Iraq war lies.

In quotes picked up by the Ithaca Journal, Hinchey said in August: "My greatest hope is that all of these things will be revealed, they will be revealed in a very direct and legal context, and that in 2006 a Democratic majority will be elected to the House of Representatives, and in February of [2007] impeachment proceedings will begin."

So..they want to see how "fair" he is???

They don't care about that

The Dems have no plan .. no way of beating us

So instead they are going for the bad PR route .. it's the same reason why they went after Delay Rove, Cheney and now the President

They think they will win this way

They are over reaching and pissing off the conservative base at the same time

In the end ... they will lose

.

A 911 Investigating Commission that refused to allow MONSOOR IJAZ to testify under oath in Open Session about the 3 free offers he brokered with the Sudan during the 1990's to bring OSAMA bin LADEN to American Custody before he could hit us real hard here at home.

...3 Free OSAMA Offers that were flatly refused by BILL CLINTON.

...MONSOOR IJAZ was only allowed by the Commission to appear in closed session ..not under oath ...despite his calling out on the FoX News Channel to be heard in Open Session for the American People to see and hear for themselves.

NUTS.

Seems that the DIMS are taking down the Bush Administration one by one. Look at the names: DeLay, Rove, Cheney, etc.

Someone is orchestrating the whole thing. Who is it....???

Sure Bush lied about WMDs. We all know that. What I can't figure out is how he got Clinton, Annan, Chirac and all those dead Kurds to play along.

Better to fight in a civil war, or risk nuclear war, than to live in a world where China is the leading power.

Better to die in combat than to live to see the day when St. Peter's is desecrated and profaned by being transformed into a Mosque.

This is where we must stand. Today we conquer or die.

I am in awe at your magnificent post. Rallying and inspirational!

I think they are in bitter earnest. The Democrat-Media Axis is coming for this Administration and we - all of us, the Administration and it's supporters - had damned well rush to action stations, otherwise we're in for the kind of hell that those of us born after the 1960's (myself included) have only read about in history books.

I can't speak for others ... But I'm ready for them

The hell they will get away with this crap ... one way or another ... the truth WILL get out and the public WILL know

It was Jamie Gorelick's aide that supposedly didn't get the Able Danger information to the 9/11 Commission...but,

I think they DID get the information, but Gorelick talked them into discarding it...

Even though Nadler and the other Dems are a joke, this is more evidence of how stupid Bush was to name a special prosecutor in the first place. His poll numbers were high, GOP had a vice grip on Congress and DeLay was riding high. There was no reason to keep this idiotic Wilson lie going any longer. It would have died on the vine. But Bush himself kept it going.

of course.

I also look at it this way. suppose the left knew Fitzgerald wasn't going to indict anyone, or only indict a reporter? what would be the best course to take if they knew that was going to be the outcome? bury this story as fast as possible, stop talking about it, let it go away and publish Fitzgerald's conclusions this week on page 24.

but they aren't shutting up leading into this week - so what does that tell us?

of course, the dream scenario is that the media is being fed dis-information from the GJ. and they are going out on a limb with all these assertions, and that limb is going to be snapped off this week.

Well, It could also be that they know there isn't much going to come from it, ie the White House, and are trying to put doubt in the SP credibility when he doesn't produce the results they keep chattering about!

If the SP doesn't bring WH charges, then they can be the ones to say he is covering for the WH, yada yada yada.

.

Why do you think MONSOOR IJAZ was publically calling for the 911 Commission to have him testfy under oath in Open Session..?

To bypass HILLARY Mouthpiece GORELICK, like nobody else has.
