There has been a lot of outrage in the media concerning the burning of a couple of dead, Taliban fighters in Afghanistan in early October.
Yet, the Australian journalist who videotaped the proceedings, Stephen Dupont, stated in an interview on National Public Radio yesterday that he believed the bodies were burned purely for reasons of hygiene when the local villagers refused to retrieve them, and that the American soldiers didn't do anything wrong.

Also, dead bodies themselves don't spread disease unless they died from some sort of plauge...

Ease up, man. We all know dead bodies are sterile. Hell, you could eat off of them. I do.
Why is the U.S. even bothering to respond to this? Who gives a crap about how a terrorist scumbag's body is disposed of? We went over to kill as many Taliban and Al Queda as possible, to avenge the victims of 9/11. We didn't go over there to agonize over Muslim burial rites. I am so sick of the limp-wristed defensiveness of this Administration.
Why am I NOT surprised?
Maybe it's a combination of events: dead, stenchy bodies, which the military decided to burn. And then psyops guys figured they might as well use the "occasion."
Question is: Is using the "occasion" for psyops purposes against military regulations?
I disagree. The LSM has done a lot. Especially for those sheeple who get their news only from the LSM.
Kudos to Mr. DuPont for helping to right a wrong rather than cashing in as some have done in his position.
Of course the American wing of al Qaeda did not get it wrong. They played it just the way they wanted to.
If the US losing the War on Terror is the costs of a Dim president in 2008, it is a price they will willingly pay.
Just heard on radio Rummy saying that he would be very disappointed if it were true that bodies were burned. Or something to that effect. This G--D--- PC crap is going to wind up with us getting our butts kicked.
Yah that the ticket Rummy, lets punish our brave soldiers so we don't damage out reputation around the world. This is disgusting. But that's just me.
Another talking head I heard mentioned how Americans felt when our soldiers bodies were burned in Somalia. He made a good point with his comparison.
You call that a good point of comparison? It's not even close. Our guys are not burning those bodies out of disrespect. It IS about hygeine. Do you know what happened in Somalia?
I'm not trying to be unkind, but you might try listening to someone else. Maybe even a soldier who's been there.
Except for Micheal Yon, I'd get rid of all the embeds. If they want to be on the scene then they can get there however they can.
He said the reporter told him to set the hooch afire. I put their asses on the next chopper that came in.
Why would a troop take orders from a reporter?
Thanks for the correction
I saw that scum reporter on some british news channel exclaiming the complete opposite, he stated that the Americans did burn the bodies and they were almost joyful, filled with glee and made all kind of statements; he looked like a lefty punk, damning our troops, when will we learn there doesn't need to be imbedded reporters anymore; and that raghead Karsi need to govern his stinking country and provide his own security see how long he lasts.
The modern MSM no longer cares about the truth and hasn't since a young Dan Blather was reporting on JFnK and Jane Fondue.
Would this be the same MSM who will not show us burned bodies of Americans in Iraq hanging from a bridge? And of course they will not show Americans slaughtered at the WTC.
They will show us burned terrorists, though.
They truly are the enemy.
Dittos. Next they'll expect a memorial and a wreath.
"In the midst of the bad news, I was encouraged today when I read that the morale amongst the soldiers is high. God bless them and their familes.
A very BIG AMEN to that!
