Good morning.
To get the press conference go to CSPAN.org, under Featured Topics click on Response to Terrorism. Under recent programs it is 9/11 Commission's Second Report 10/20/2005.

At the press conference I posted about there were some women there that appeared not to be with the press. Mr. Kean called on one and said something about her not being with the press but would allow her question anyway. I don't recall what Kristin and the other Jersey Girls look like so I can't say it was her. Thought you might like to know.

Their history does raise those questions.

It does illustrate my point about partisanship from yesterday. Everybody knows that their own party bears some of the blame and they will let the other side slide to avoid getting any mud on themselves.

You are more on target than I think you realize. The 9/11 commission was NOT, repeat NOT about finding blame. That wasn't the deal. The only reason that it was allowed to form and staffed the way we saw it was to identify "faulty processes" ONLY. Neither side was going to put up with ANY "blame" that could be fixed to a particular individual or administration; which would have most certainly occurred had any 9/11 investigation followed a more conventional route.

The only thing a politician values more than partisanship or ideology is his/her job. THAT is sacrosanct. Even avowed political enemies will band together to protect those.

No one should be suprised that the 9/11 commission produced a document with process recomendations rather than definitive answers. It simply did what it was designed to do....Period.

There's more to it, of course, but this was the "prime directive", if you will, of the commission.

"BILL CLINTON (AND HIS WHOLE ADMINISTRATION) LIED - AND 3000 AMERICANS DIED - I WILL NEVER FORGET!!"

And hopefully his wife will not become the next President.

"They have all outlived their usefulness."

While I am completely with you politically, this line makes me uncomfortable. Perhaps I read in an implication that was not there. This is a phrase most commonly used by people who consider murder to be an option.

"Based on those findings, the CIA director was to "take appropriate disciplinary and other action," with the result to be passed on to the president and to the House and Senate intelligence committees.

But Goss declined. He noted that before Sept. 11, when he was chairman of the House intelligence panel, the CIA suffered from cutbacks and reduced budgets. "Stars" were singled out and asked "to take on some tough assignments," he said. "Unfortunately, time and resources were not on their side, despite their best efforts to meet unprecedented challenges."

"Risk is a critical part of the intelligence business. Singling out these individuals would send the wrong message to our junior officers about taking risks -- whether it be an operation in the field or being assigned to a hot topic at headquarters," he said."

So far, I'm standing by Goss. Every initial indication I have gotten is that this is a good guy, who is doing his best to clean out a very rotten situation in the CIA. He has received a lot of very strong opposition from inside the agency, which is a good sign.

The fact is, if you make internal reviews of intelligence agency's public, you make it impossible to perform the work of intelligence.

"I have no doubt that there is a vast coverup from both sides of the aisle, as the socialists are deeply entrenched in both parties."

Socialism is not the reason why the Republicans are participating in the cover-up. clearly, the Bush administration made some mistakes, it is trying to hide here.

"Why no Sunday talk show appearance for Weldon, given the amazing details of this story?"

You need to get a little more up to speed about what is going on, in general, with the MSM.

I want to know where the darling 'Jersey Girls' are on this......... especially that little precious and loquacious, Kristin Brietweiser.

Those four girls' lips were flapping in the wind against Bush for days on end. Now when the truth is apparent to anyone listening or who is half aware, they are strangely silent.

Excellent point, beyond the sea. Where ARE the Jersey Girls these days?

"You need to get a little more up to speed about what is going on, in general, with the MSM."

Oh, I'm up to speed. That was meant to be both a serious comment, as well as a little dig at those in both the MSM and the other media who are not giving this the coverage that it deserves.

No. I meant 'outlived' in a political sense.

Then again, it is the liberals that use Fort Marcy Park a lot.......

Well .. there is a 4-some ready to try to stop her; Kennedy, Kerry, Gore and Dean - and I wouldn't underestimate them if I were her.

"Both Clintons expected and plotted and planned for an algore presidency."

I don't agree! During Gore's campaign, Gore tried to distance himself from Bill .. and Hillary made a very limp attempt to support him. Plus .. because of her senate run, she garnered most of the available money for herself - thereby stopping Gore in his tracks.

"Wonder who hillry's contact was at the pentagon."

Gorelick was at the Pentagon - but I don't know exactly what the time frame was. I don't think she went over to the DOJ until Clinton's second term. I believe that Gorelick's involvement in keeping Able Danger from being public was part of her activities at the Pentagon - and she would have been in a perfect position to have kept Hillary informed about what we were finding out about the terrorists. This was also why Gorelick was on the commission - to keep Able Danger quiet - and her staff did an effective job of keeping any of that testimony from coming to light in the commission's report.

I sure hope so .. they deserve to be "stuck" with killing 3000 Americans.

Some people think this could be bigger than Watergate.

Some people think Wilson/Plame could be bigger than Watergate.

Go figure.
