The first group to jump on her were affiliated with National Review. You can even count on those guys to regularly come up with articles about the evils of the Orthodox ~ what makes you think folks like that don't keep track of heresy?

Otherwise they are nice people.

Oh, yes, and then Buchanan jumped on her right away ~ almost knee-jerk about it ~ the guy didn't even know why he opposed her but he did; then there's his gumbah McLaughlin.

If in the luck of the draw, Miers had been nominated first, and subjected to this sort of muck, I bet you dollars to donuts you'd not seen Roberts nominated.

"W" needs to call Jonah Goldberg's momma and tell her to ask him to call off the dogs or NONE of their Libertarian or other friends will ever get any jobs in his administration ever again.

Hmmmmm, well, I don't think one needs to delve into the technical aspects of heresy to find a reason to oppose this nomination.

I just don't see that as a serious factor......but maybe it matters to someone.

I knew eventually someone would start accusing NR of opposing her on the basis of her having left the Catholic Church (even though the story is apparently untrue).

Frankly, I think it's a silly accusation, but be my guest.

For crying out loud, they have Derbyshire writing for them! Not exactly a foaming-at-the-mouth Papist, to say the least.
