I didn't see an earlier poll, but I think it's likely that opinions have shifted. I certainly wouldn't have voted against Miers when her nomination was first announced. But as I learned more I became less enthusiatic, to the point now that I oppose her nomination. I imagine that many FReepers underwent a similar transition.

In professional polling, a sample of 300 is considered adequate to produce reliable results. A sample of over 3,000 should very accurately reflect FReeper sentiment.

In any case, I wouldn't care if I were in a tiny minority: I am convinced we can and should do much better than Harriet Miers.

A sampling of 3,000 is valid, but not when taken among murders and thieves. Mind you, I am not name calling anyone, only making a point.
