I get the image of him walking into those halls, and a chant is taken up, louder and louder with each step he takes, a chant by Lobbyists, Representatives, and Senators:

Brash, enthusiastic and a strong believer in an aggressive conservative agenda, McHenry is clearly looked upon by GOP leaders as just the type of eager-to-please foot soldier needed for carrying on their cause.We don't need any more boot-licking Congressman that are "eager-to-please". From what I read, epecially his labeling of himself as a "player", it sounds like this guy is just another in a long line of issue-oriented conservatives who go to DC and get star-struck. Their heroes switch from people like the Founding Fathers to committee chairmen. Their goals change from things like cutting spending to increasing spending.
We do not need people who fit into a junior high school analogy. We need hard-ball, true, true-believers who go after frauds and phonies of BOTH parties. I hope I am wrong but I do not hold out much hope for McHenry if he is liked by the likes of Hastert. A real conservative would be an enemy of RINO Hastert.

Since he is a member of the House Republican Study Committee (that is led by Mike Pence) then that is a good sign that he might become part of the solution rather than be part of the problem.

He was referring to older women, IIRC.

It would be interesting to get some inside information on him. He's never had a job outside of politics in his life. He got a realtor's license one month before beginning his congressional campaign -- no word on whether he's ever sold a single property -- and ran ads bragging about being a job-creating business owner.
I see him as one of those College Republicans who never managed to make contact with the real world.

I was listening to Larry Doyle on my way home this afternoon and he was not speaking very highly of him either.

I feel sorry for those who run for political office. One can't please everyone.
