Your post sounds like it came out of my mouth!! Exactly the way I feel. Our firm here has Mariner season tickets. When the attorneys are not using them for client development activities, they are put out to the staff. I enter, just to help a lady here in my quad win. I have won them for her a couple of times. We get them for free. But, I will not attend. We voted down the new Mariner and Seahawks stadiums, however, the fine state legislature had them built anyway with tax payer money and higher user taxes on hotels, taxi, food, etc. I have never been to a Seahawks game in the 14 years I have lived here and been to a Mariner game maybe two or three times, but only once to the new stadium. My wife wanted to go, so we went. Otherwise, I don't go. I rarely watch pro football or baseball any more. I never watch the NBA or college basketball and rarely watch NCAA football. It is all crap to me now. Years ago, I never missed any sports, watched them all, couldn't get enough. Now, to hell with them, I go ride my bike or go hiking with my wife. We cycle all over. I actually missed the Alabama-Florida game a couple of weeks ago and took my wife to Tacoma shopping, of course I hit a couple of bike shops. But, I just don't care for it anymore. It is junk.

Amen, brother!

My company also has a sky box for NHL and NFL games. I won a drawing for an NFL exhibition game and took my 12 year old daughter and it wasn't as bad as I thought (my daughter really only wanted to go so she could say she was in a sky box; she got bored and we left at half time).

I refuse to go to the NHL games, but the box is also good for concerts. In the past six months I've taken my five year old boy to a Veggie Tales concert and my wife to a Christian rock concert. Next month I'll be taking my daughter to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

And I think you've made the right choice to get out and do active things with your wife rather than just sitting around watching sports. Life is too short, and I don't know about you, but I feel physically bad after watching TV for a couple of hours.

Of course, spending time Freeping is completely different!

If been to Safeco field a couple times. Tiny seats, $20 for a hot dog and a couple brews, and a bad (on field) product. Never again.

Just as in CA, most of the voters up here in WA are fooled into believing their vote counts for something.

No %$#$, I was in Seattle last month and rented an SUV and paid $40 in taxes on it.
