Please tell me how the Bush administration is advancing conservatism? Because I don't see it.
I see them as better than the Democrats, but not conservative according to any definition I am aware of.
Tax cuts, social security reform, court appointments are three to start. And don't try to spin it by focusing on Miers while ignoring Roberts and all the lower court appointments. And even if one wants to undervalue those conservative gains, simply maintaining the status quo is still far better for conservatism than allowing Dems to gain more power to thwart or implement liberal policies.
Moving forward slowly, or even standing still, is far more constructive in reaching a goal than moving backwards. That should be self-evident.
