I lost interest in NASCAR when Helton and France Jr. took over. Not to mention each week is like a soap opera or the WWF.(Staged) IMHO

I agree with you. Once NASCAR made a decision to expand into large metropolitan areas throughout the U.S., they really committed themselves to selling the "sport" to casual fans who had no real interest in stock car racing.

It seems like every major sport goes through a similar process, and often ends up alienating their traditional fans in the process.

As long as a sponsor can have more than one car, NASCAR will always look staged. Too many times, the second place car's team mate will cause a caution so there can be green, white, checker shootouts.

Heck yes it's staged, sort of. Here's how it works.

Goodyear supplies all the tires.
All the teams send their wheels to Goodyear to get them mounted the week before the a race and all the wheels are marked with the teams' ID.
NASCAR tells Goodyear which tires to mount on whose wheels!

DUH!

NASCAR is an acronym for National Association Sponsoring Chevrolet Automobile Racing.

Running a whiskey still is the hardest work in the world, don't ask how I know.

Running a successful racing operation is the second hardest work in the world.

Work and certain minorities don't seem to mix that well.
