No one ever counted on you to cover Bush's flank. Unless they were an idiot. We have always assumed you would be leading the enemy around to the back door.

In the not too distant past, the GOP has actually made the argument that the Constituion says "advise and consent," not approve.

In other words, they could give him advice, but didn't necessarily have the final say, if he decided differently.

No one is suggesting that we smear anyone. Just fight back. Point out Earle's ties to MoveOn, for a start.

Then expose Able Danger

Then don't let Sandy Burglar off with a slap on the wrist.

Sheesh it's hard to fight for a side that doesn't fight for itself. I'm sickened and I volunteered a lot of hour towards the reelection campaign.

I remember a day when we had a certain period of peace where Dems and Reps worked together for at least a year (kinda), after an damned election....not this time...so freakin' much hate..Bush hasn't even had a chance to accomplish anything this time around.

I don't think I'm voting for W next time. I think I'll cast my vote for Perot.

Am I a conservative?

I am not a fringer or a wingnut. I have always voted GOP and think the term RINO is tossed around here in excess by folks who are never happy and really have no understanding of politics. The 'my way or the highway' type.

I'd name Haley Barbour as my favorite politician.

Nah, that's too dishonest. There was a debate at the time of the constitution that one third would be enough and it lost (I could go find a link if you like) so clearly you need approval of a majority of Senators.

Consent clearly means approval. We do approval by votes. And since there is no requirement for a supermajority, 51 votes should do it.

Yeah..."consent" is something old fashioned guys ask from a future father-in-law before popping the question.

Doesn't mean their not going to do it, anyway.

This Rove "scandal" must surely be bigger than stealing national security documents from the national archives, giving top secret nuclear technology to the Chinese in return for several grocery bags full of cash, or forcible rape.

After all, the media are drooling over this "scandal" but showed no interest in the others, so this one must be much bigger.
