Destination America is organized around some of the driving forces that have compelled individuals to immigrate to America for centuries and have remained constant throughout history — economic opportunity, religious freedom and artistic expression. As well, the series looks at the particular forces that drive women to come to America in search of opportunity and the basic human rights they had been denied in their homelands.
Contemporary stories are the centerpiece of each episode, along with historic portraits of immigrants who came before. The past and present day experiences of immigrants resonate with each other. To say goodbye to everything you have known and loved and set off for another country has always been a wrenching experience. The films focus on the world the immigrants left behind, the roots that defined them, and the frustrations, hardships, discontents and ambitions that made and continues to make America their destination.
Why does this pinhead producer not ask or answer any security issues? Why have Mexicans been coming for hundreds of years, vice the 5's and 10's of years of waves of europeon immigration? Why cant a country so rich in resources human, and mineral not take care of it's own people. Producer does not mention corruption in Mexico or the single rule of a miscreant socialist party for 80 years.

Especially when GM and Delphi are going bankrupt due to health insurance issues - costs of the illegals are being borne by health insurance payers indirectly through the higher rates of hospitals to pay for their debts. Raising taxes to pay for education, encarceration, vehicle insurance (especially here in Arizona the average insurance cost has boomed to $1800 a year, average)
I wonder if this was coordinated with the present administration and question the timing of the shows.
When you are open minded as the loon that produced this show is, some of the brains run out.

I saw parts of it last night as I was scrolling stations. It was awful. They were trying to equate LEGAL immigration from the early 20th century to what happens along our borders to the South today. I wish I knew how to post a "barf" emoticon.
