Word of the Day
beneficence \buh-NEFF-i-suhns\, noun: The practice of doing good; active goodness, kindness, or charity; bounty springing from purity and goodness
From my grandfather Verus I learned good morals and the government of my temper. From the reputation and remembrance of my father, modesty and a manly character. From my mother, piety and beneficence and abstinence. --Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

On this Day in History
1781 British General Lord Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown, effectively bringing an end to the American Revolution. Pleading illness, Cornwallis did not attend the surrender ceremony; his second-in-command, General Charles O'Hara, carried Cornwallis' sword to the American and French commanders. As the British troops marched out to surrender, the British bands played the song "The World Turned Upside Down."

DOH!! You barely caught me! LOL
I don't know. So far kidney stones and gall stones and meningitis are ruled out. There is something called "parainfluenza virus" going around. Doc suspects that. It has all the syptoms of the flu EXCEPT fever, and he's had no fever. HOWEVER, he has a history of "benign lymphoid nodular hyperplasia" which is a fancy way of saying "polyps in his colon" so hubby and I are wondering if that will come into play again at all. He had a polypectomy at the age of 4. Do wants to watch things a couple more days and see if it fades, as she would expect the parainfluenza to do. So, we wait! :o) I don't know if they tested for strep, but I'd imagine that they did. They ran a lot of tests and even did xrays. So we'll see!! ok - now I'm REALLY going to bed!! Oh - I guess I'd better ping a couple others to this who will want to know that latest update, too! :o)

Star! Thanks for the update on the little guy's illness. Prayers that it is something simple and that it will be over in a couple of days!
'Nite--you were up even later than I was last night and worrying about a sick child. You deserve a good night's sleep tonight! (((hugs)))

Well, right now it is! Did a quick scan and saw where Unc's poem/writing whatever was posted without credit so...
decided to be kind since Angelboy needs lots of help--with all those voices and all--and edited his piece for whichever personality of his posted it!
