This is truly baffling to me. Where's Michael Newdow to protest? Where's the ACLU?

Tell me about it. Including ignorance and bias against Christian children, the right to say a silent prayer before lunch, the right to carry a Bible to school (without shoving religion in other people's faces, mind you)

Yes, people must be taught all the good things about Islam so they will have something to compare with all the bad things we teach them about Christianity

What happened to separation of church and state?

This is different. There is no such thing as separation of mosque and state.

Whose ignorance? Let anyone ask for the chance to teach Muslim children about Christianity!

Separation of Church and State doesn't mean separation of Mosque and State.

Separation of Church and State doesn't mean separation of Mosque and State.

The most perfect separation of church and state is in Saudi Arabia. The number of churches in that state is ZERO.

Strange how fear can make you forget what nation you are a citizen of -- or perhaps not even care.

[...] The call to prayer echoed through the packed room. While River Hill High School senior Khalid Shourbaji sang in Arabic, Sayeed Hassan translated.

"Allahu akbar," repeated Hassan, president of the Dar al-Taqwa mosque, for the public school administrators at his table. "God is the greatest. Ash-hadu an la ilaha illa'llah. I bear witness that there is no god but God."[...]

I agree, this ignorance of Islam is a huge problem.

How many people know, for example, that Muslims, in their grand days, conquerored the Middle East and murdered by the thousands? That they slowly exterminated Christian communities through centuries of slavery, oppression and murder? Aren't most people ignorant of the fact that India was said to be one of the seven greatest civilizations in the world, and then the Muslims came, murdering Hindus, burning books, and destroying temples? How many people realize that sexism and racism are ingrained in Islam, and written in the Koran? How many people know that Islam considers wife-beating an acceptable way for men to deal with their "disobedient" wives?

The man is right, ignorance of Islam is a problem.

WHat about cultural exchange. Let one Christian reads the whole Koran in exchange for one Muslim reasing the whole New Testament?

Or what about school children being required to read both books and write the comparison? Certainly it will cure them of the religious ignorance!

Interesting isn't it that Christianity is outlawed in schools now, but Islam is quite welcome. The upside down country we live in.
