54 percent of Americans think President Bush values party loyalty and personal friendship over competence.

Mike Brown, Harriet Meiers.

'nuff said.

Just more Bush hate from the "going down for the third time" Dems who have floated yet another last ditch "strategy " for winning in '06...based on their notion that the "White House is in big trouble".
It still hasn't dawned on them that an alternative platform might interest voters. Hate seems to be their only recourse.

Michael Brown managed 165 separate disasters including four simultaneous hurricane responses in Florida in 2004, prior to the fiasco in Louisiana. Nagin and Blanco were negligent in their first response duties, but, of course, nobody's going to blame the black man or the girl.

Totally moronic, he should be ashamed for writing it and you should be ashamed for posting it.

His analogy of the mafia to the Bush family is especially disgusting.

I curse every conservative that is turning against Bush.

May you all begin to look like a cross between Bob Beckel and Nancy Pelosi. And may they be so happy with you for helping them bash Bush that they both give you a big, fat, smootchy, wet kiss right on the lips.

WHHAAAA! You did not pick OUR choice! We want one of OUR cronies picked!!!WHAAAAAA!

Note to NRO pseudo "Conservatives". Republicans that crawl into bed with the Hysteric Left never make out too well. The Conservative Movement has long memories and does NOT reward treason. Pissing on your base by adopting the talking points of your political foes is an extremely stupid thing for an organization that lives and dies on it's ability to get customers to buy it's product. Have fun NRO, joining Pat Buchanan on the irrelevant and always angry fringe of the Conservative Movement. BTW, when you end up in the Unemployment line, please list primary cause of dismissal as GROSS STUPIDITY. It would be a refreshing change for one of you NRO super twits to actually be HONEST for once.

According to a Wall Street Journal/NBC poll, 54 percent of Americans think President Bush values party loyalty and personal friendship over competence.

Since Americans seem to be split 50-50 on Bush, this poll would indicate absolutely nothing.

I wonder if these self righteous so-called reporters ever had a problem with John F. Kennedy and "nepotism"?! Like appointing his brother, Robert Kennedy, Attorney General?!!!

OF COURSE NOT!

They were in bed with the Kennedy's.

Did they have a problem with the Clintons (especially Hillary) setting up her former LAW FIRM in HER OFFICE?!

OF COURSE NOT!

Because they agreed with the Clintons & VOTED FOR THEM (two for the price of one)!

From CQ Online Library, Encyclopedia of American Government, comes this item:

"Lincoln named his former campaign manager, David Davis, to the Court. John F. Kennedy appointed Byron R. White, who had led Kennedy's drive for independent voters in the 1960 election. Eisenhower's selection of Earl Warren as chief justice in 1953 came after Warren had delivered the California delegation's votes to Eisenhower at the 1952 Republican nominating convention and had campaigned for Eisenhower in the general election campaign.

"John Adams's selection of the Federalist Marshall as chief justice, ironically, did not please the Federalist-controlled Senate, whose members wanted to elevate Associate Justice William Paterson. The Senate yielded after Adams remained firm."

And, as far as the term "crony" is concerned, anyone remember Congressman BillyBob's suggestion that in order to determine the perjorative nature of that accusation, one need only try the phrase, "Jesus and the twelve cronies." (Note: one was chosen to head the movement that has lasted over 2000 years)
