Just wanted to point out that the last cool front we got slowed down and didn't reach east TX until later than expected. Seems like it slowed down around DFW. Big difference...this is Oct. 19th. Weather patterns i.e. cool front, westerly winds and north winds...we're out of the tropical weather season, therefore, hurricanes have lots of problems this time of the year. She's in the Caribbean...wait till she enters the Gulf of Mexico. She'll have major westerly wind shears.

I hope you're right, but so far this storm has defied just about every intensity forecast that has been made to date. The GFDL model early on had it ramping up to Category Five and everyone basically poo-pooed it; well, it turns out that GFDL was actually conservative. Right now I have no faith that this thing will weaken an iota - looking at the surface water temperatures in the projected path, I see nothing lower than mid to upper 80's, and they're saying that the upwelling is bringing even warmer water up to the surface!
