Dean rallies Democrats in Hayward

Howard Dean, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, came to Hayward on Sunday to rally the Democratic grass roots against Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's special election.
Dean spoke at a union hall full of die-hard supporters from his presidential campaign. About 150 people hooted and hollered as he castigated the governor as a disappointment "who sold himself and the state of California to special interests."

Whoa! Howeird really rallyed the party faithful here in the belly of the beast. Can you imagine? Only 150 of the faithful showed up in the hottest of dumocrat hotbeds in the nation!

Phil Angelides was supposed to be a speaker at this hoopla but he bailed. Art Torres had to take his place. He sounded less than entusiastic. From what I read today, Howie was boffo as he railed against the evil Republicans.
He was here in the belly of the beast because the rats are afraid that their base needs some shoring up.
Dean really knows how to tap into that 5 and 10 dollar donation crowd...
