Time ceased to be a news magazine long ago. Now it tries to influence kids in high schools, which is the only place it is still afforded respect.
Hence, a spate of covers on "being 13", "Kenya West", and "gay teens".
Unfortunately, some teens reading Time may think they are
getting a grown-up, informed look at the world; when all they are doing is being misinformed.
Agreed that Time is birdcage liner. But I was refering to the SF paper that ignores the details of local homosexual murders.
You are so right! I remember 30+ years ago when I subscribed to both Time and Newsweek and read them cover to cover. It seems to me as if Time went bad first, and I dropped it and continued to take Newsweek for awhile until it too deteriorated. The odd thing is that the quality of writing in Time seemed to collapse quickly, nearly all at once; perhaps they abruptly eliminated their stylesheet, or laid off a bunch of experienced editors, or something, but it really was weird. I wish I could pinpoint just when it happened, but it's so long ago, that I can't.
