The CIA and State Department need major housekeeping....

-------

I was thinking the same thing. Presidents and governments come and go but these people are there for years and I am convinced that a lot of them have their own agendas and are not loyal to the President or the country.

We don't really know if that's true or not.

Actually, we do. Within days of Judy going into the slammer, news reports revealed that the "source" she claimed to be protecting had previously released her from any confidentiality requirement. But, it was more important to her to stage the publicity stunt.

As her time behind bars dragged on, the NYT derived all the publicity out of her that they could get, all the time using her incarceration as another way to bash Bush. She didn't decide that the time to come clean had arrived until two events occurred:
1. She had her book advance, and
2. The prosecutor told her to get comfortable in her cell because she was going to be there for a long time if she didn't agree to testify.

The prosecutor already knew that she was staging a publicity stunt and called her bluff. Judy "blinked".

Now with her saying she can't remember the source of the information that she went to jail to protect,

If Miller has really forgotten who told her, then Miller must have gained the information, that Wilson's wife worked for the CIA, a long, long time ago.

Valerie Plame has been in the headlines for well over 2 years. That fact alone, could easily have kept memories, from 3+ years ago, fresh in Miller's mind.

Bush's administration has been in place for only 4+ years. So perhaps the Bush administration has nothing to do with her knowledge.

This is the only thing that makes sense. Joe Wilson and Plame must have been doing so. However there possibly was another orchestrating this from afar. Who would benefit from such a series of events? Most notable to me would be Hillary.

Timing wise, if it was a set up from the beginning, wouldn't this have benefited Kerry in the short term more than Hillary?

At a minimum, he should have started a different hiring/promotion process that attracts and keeps American patriots.

He tried HARD in the beginning, but Congress wouldn't let him even move people to other positions.

It's Congress, not Bush, that keeps these fools employed.

One last "bomb" Clinton left for Bush was making a lot of his political appointments civil servants as he was going out the door.

Amen.....WHO Ok'd Wilson for the trip to Niger? Plame may have Suggested him, but SOMEONE had to sign off for his trip and expenses....didn't they? Or can an "analyst" or even a "covert operative super secret spy" needs to get PERMISSION from a supervisor....right?

I wonder if Fitzgerald has everyone confused and will indict Valerie & Joe Wilson for nepotism? And a few "journalists"/"reporters" for lying to a grand jury and/or obstructing justice? I can dream.

I'm sure it leads back to Hillary also. What is being pushed right now is a FEDERAL LAW to protect journalists and their sources......just in time for Hillary's campaign. You're going to see more anonymous sources during Hillary's campaign than you could ever dream. There's a reason for No Federal Law.....Because NO MAN is above the Law and these reporters who are living off, well, let's call it payola, belong in jail.

No Federal Funds involved. He went Pro bono. Wanna make a bet that somewhere there's a Swiss (or French) bank account.
Wilson still hasn't explained how he knew the "documents" which he mentioned in a speech were a forgery because they hadn't been made available to him at that time.

Yeah, we need to put the skids to this new legislation.

This would allow the democrats to allege sources which do not exist and then lie through their teeth and blame the "source".

We know how the democrats think. We need to be hitting our senators hard about this. Maybe I'll put a bug in Tony Snow's ear - he's good with legislation issues.

It's not really a story about Bush officials Lewis Libby and Karl Rove and their conversations with the press. Rather, it's a story about a CIA bureaucracy working to undermine the Bush administration through the media and cover up for its own

What a surprise.

Wouldn't it be oh, Shakespearean, if Judith Miller were related to either Plame or Wilson....cousin, sister-in-law....

Did you know that Miller supposedly went to jail because she wanted Fitzpatrick to guarantee her that she would not be questioned about ANY SOURCE OTHER THAN LIBBY ..??

When Fitz agreed to that .. Miller got out of jail.

That right there convinced me Miller was protecting a democrat whose name she didn't to give up. The only dem I can think of is Hillary.

I tend to agree with you. The Clinton left-overs are a worrisome bunch.

But .. I'm more optomistic than you about it getting worked out. It just takes more time than we want.

It's been repeated endlessly by Miller's defenders that Miller was ordered to testify about the case but never wrote a story about it. She should have. Her story exonerates the Bush administration and it should put the focus where it belongs - on Wilson, his wife and the duplicitous bureaucrats in the CIA. ---

Oh please let this happen. I'd give up my worst vice.
