Heard about this the other week. Frankly, I'm skeptical, and since we just had new carpets installed--not something I'm to hetted up to try.
That being said...
Any kind-hearted Freepers out there who might have some suggestions on how to get Desitin out of a toddler's hair? Apparently, my two year old wants to join the band Kiss. We were able to clean it off her head, hands, out of her eyes, et. but we've shampooed her hair about fifteen times, and there's STILL a residue of mineral oil.
We haven't even attempted to clean the rug...

Try baby oil; let it soak in; then shampoo. BTW, Aquaphor works great for preventing diaper rash. We use it on all our premies.

Dawn dishwashing detergent is what's used to clean up animals from oil spills. Use a 1:70 ratio to water. This is from a organic chemist friend of mine. If that doesn't work, I'd suggest a buzz cut. It'll grow back and maybe if it bothers him enough, you can use it to convince him to stay out of the Desitin next time.

OOOps, sorry. I can't believe I didn't notice you said "she" and "her" BLUSH. Buzz cut won't work.

I've used dishwashing liquid to remove motor oil from my hair.
I've also found that "dandruff shampoo" (Denorex in particular) is more effective at removing motor oil than regular shampoo.

Try washing her hair with Dawn dish washing (not dishWASHER)detergent. If that doesn’t do it, mix about 2/3 parts white vinegar with water and let it sit on the hair for a couple of minutes. Rinse with plain water.
